Jason Bourne
Better than Bourne Legacy, but still shit.
It's over, Matt. You had a good run, but it has all become waaaaay too formulaic. Something suspicious, fist fight, clandestine activity at the CIA, caught on CCTV, Treadstone!, fist fight, cat-and-mouse chase through eurotrash city, Julia Stiles acting badly, absurdly over-the-top car chase, gun fight, "I remember", he must be dead, aaaaaand ... Moby.
^ They've even given up on the titles and couldn't think of a noun or adjective ending in "y" to put at the end this time ?
Not even " The Bourne Mediocrity" ?
This Island Earth(1955)
Joseph M.Newman directed this very good film about a group of alien scientists that request our help in saving their doomed world of origin.Featuring some great special effects, especially the images of the alien's dying planet.
7/10
Scarface (1983) I won't go into the plot, cos we all probably know but suffice to say that a film clocking in at 2hours 45 mins doesn't really have any dull spots. Pacino as Tony Montana is excellent of course succumbing to paranoia and drugs, but gets fine support from a ever cynical Michelle Pfeiffer, also Robert Loggia,Steven Bauer,Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio,F Murray Abraham,Paul Shenar & Miriam Colon. Excellent set pieces and memorable dialogue, and a film where swearing is realistic and warranted. 8/10
The Bourne Supremacy 9.3/10
Kiss Of Death(1947)
A film noir from Henry Hathaway that introduced Richard Widmark as psychotic killer Tommy Udo.Widmark puts in a frightening turn and plays Udo full tilt, complete with an evil giggle. The most horrible scene involves Udo laughing as he ties an old lady to her wheelchair and then pushes her down the stairs.
7.5/10
Jason Bourne 2016
enjoyed watching it but the box set of the first three bourne movies will keep their place in my collection of favourites
Bound (1996) A stylish directorial debut from the Wachowski twins in which lovers played Gina Gershon & Jennifer Tilly steal Mob money & attempt to frame Tilly's husband. Intelligently scripted with inventive camerawork flourishes, the pouty Gershon & the temptress Tilly are equally good, matched by Joe Pantoliano as the husband. Also starring John P Ryan, Christopher Meloni & Richard C Sarafian 8/10
