Watched this horror classic that originally came out in 1931,81 years old and not even dated,it's better than some modern horrors,i find this film more chilling than the likes of Paranormal Inactivity(i call it that cause not a lot happens),this is a true classic from Universal Studios who made lots of atmpspheric horrors like this from the 30s to the 60s and it made a star of Boris Karloff or ? as he is credited in the film's opening titles

Boris Karloff had quite a transformation from mild mannered british actor into a groaning sinister monster,an excellent performance considering he has no dialogue apart from "Grrrr" and "Arrrrg",stuff like that,and this is a monster you can actually have sympathy for,everyone sees him as a killing machine but he actually does have feelings,there is a scene in the film considered controversial with the monster playing a game by a lake with a little girl,it was actually removed from the film and kept that way until the 1980s when they decided to put it back in and let people saw the full film

The film is based on the novel by Mary Shelley and follows it quite well only making changes to Dr Frankenstein's first name,here it is Henry rather than Victor,and adding in the infamous "It's alive!" sequence


What helps this film also is a lack of music score,i find that makes the film more atmospheric and creepy,the scenes in the castle with the monster stalking about works well,and the finale with the monster out on the hills being chased by villagers is also memorable and well shot

The film had 2 sequels,Bride of Frankenstein and Son of Frankenstein,decent enough films,but this is always the best and i recommend it highly,such a fine example of horror done well and still bowled over that it was done in 1931,watch this one,the definitive Frankenstein film

5/5 genius film-making

behind enemy lines. 7/10 .was good .not normally a owen wilson fan but in this he was ok.
gene hackman ,his usual excelent self.

The Adjustment Bureau, really loved this film plus am a big Matt Damon fan it had a great cast with the great Terence Stamp and the gorgeous Emily Blunt 9/10 .

Extremely Loud Incredibly Close 1/10 Didn't actually get to the end as I was bored stupid.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 8/10

Just watched Red State not the kind of film i expect from Kevin Smith but i really enjoyed it, Michael Parks is fucking amazing.

No Country For Old Men

the Coens at their best,great cat and mouse chase thriller,Javier Bardem deservedly won an oscar for his performance
