Stonehearst Asylum(2014) A newly qualified doctor(Jim Sturgess) joins the staff of a seemingly enlightened asylum but soon finds sinister goings on and things are not what they seem. An enjoyable Victorian horror pic, based on an Edgar Allen Poe short story, with deceptively written characters. Lead actors Sturgess and Kate Beckinsale's characters are both likeably played and written while David Thewlis relishes being the main villain, generally stealing scenes. Although billed as horror it has a strong thread of heart and emotion in it. Neat ending too. Also starring Ben Kingsley,Sinead Cusack,Michael Caine,Brendan Gleeson,Sophie Kennedy Clark and Gullaume Delauney. 7/10
A Michael Tuchner crime drama starring Richard Burton as a violent,sadistic mobb boss struggling with his sanity and his sexuality as the empire her created begins to crumble around him.Burton is excellent in the main role basing his performance on Ronnie Kray.Ian McShane and Nigel Davenport are also very good in their respective roles.

Definitely underrated maybe forgotten in the wake of the excellent Get Carter which was released earlier the same year. Also a historical document as part of it was filmed in Battersea,South London and that area has completely changed since.
Saw this on Tuesday right off the bat it’s fun enjoyable movie and if youth paying full price for the ticket and enjoy the Marvel formula then your definitely getting your money’s worth.
You have a great cast and all have great chemistry together so you see there having a lot of fun. The special effects are great along with the fight scenes, in places it’s funny and sound track goes well with the movie along with funny cameos and Easter Eggs peppered through out the film.
Now where I have issues with the film is that it’s almost too funny and trying to hard to be comedic now compared to the previous film it’s big improvement but I felt like the film at times was more like a comedy it felt more like Guardians of The Galaxy then Thor.
Now I was a big fan of the first movie I liked the direction that Kenneth Branagh took with that film and Norse mythology if was to add to that film I would have put a little more humour not too much and more of Asgard, the second one I just felt was boring. When your making a film very comedic it depends on the character your using so for Guardians it works perfectly all tho with the sequel I felt it was trying too hard to be funny and with Deadpool humour suits the perfectly or with Antman it’s been set from the start to funny so it works it’s one of reasons why I half issues with Superman 3 coming off the previous films they did have humour in number 3 it’s just a out right comedy which if you know story behind that and the casting you know why it’s like that. What I like about Spider-Man is his supposed to funny so it works with his character. Because it’s more funny now you don’t get those sense of danger especially with Thor in the previous films having visions your expecting something darker. The villain I thought was good and the twist but final battle a little underwhelming and some chracters just wasted because there gone with within seconds one character that’s bumped off and I won’t spoil it after recent news you kinds Knie why they did it. Also what happens to Thor is a little too on the nose, the cameos where great and really were funny that’s the comedy side of it does work. The 2 post credits of one them is really great and a prefect set up the last one you won’t miss much. One critic said this is the darkest MCU film I don’t see that at all or that it’s the best Marvel film ever made which people always say till the next one comes out. Now this could be between Black Panther or Avengers Infinty Wars these films potential to be both or one of the best Marvel films especially infinity wars depending on the scope of the film and if they take any risks and as for some saying it’s a different kind of Marvel film it’s not as I said it’s more like Guardians. Something that BvS suffered from was being too serious so it’s all about balance. Overall you’ll enjoy and be entertained by the film.
Spellbound(1945) A psychiatrist(Ingrid Bergman) tries to clear her amnesiac lover(Gregory Peck) of a murder using psychoanalysis to restore his memory. An excellent, interesting mystery puzzle with dollops of cod psychology, excellent lead performances, good support from Leo G Carroll and Steven Geray and some good visual moments from director Hitchcock. There are some mini dream sequences and then a larger, famous, brilliant, surreal one devised by Salvador Dali. Also starring John Emery,Norman Lloyd,Bill Goodwin,Wallace Ford, Regis Toomey and Art Baker. 9/10
A free man after years in prison, Carlito Brigante (Al Pacino) intends to give up his criminal ways, but it's not long before the ex-con is sucked back into the New York City underworld. Reconnecting with his dancer girlfriend, Gail (Penelope Ann Miller), Carlito gets entangled in the shady dealings of his friend Dave Kleinfeld (Sean Penn), who also serves as his lawyer. When Carlito and Kleinfeld run afoul of shifty gangster Benny Blanco (John Leguizamo), it sets them on a dangerous path.
I never tire of this movie...another of my top 20 all timers!
As others have said, not as bad as the reviews made out, sure some things could have been a bit better, but it was an enjoyable film.
I liked the humour and overall feel/tone of the film. I'll generally give a Tom Cruise film a chance, and I liked Sofia Boutella as Ahmanet.
Surly the squirrel and his animal friends find out that the corrupt mayor of Oakton plans to bulldoze their beloved Liberty Park to make way for an amusement park. Hoping to save the place they call home, Surly, Andie, Buddy and the rest of the gang join forces with Mr. Feng, a seemingly cute and innocent mouse who happens to be a fierce master of kung fu.
Irrational Man(2015) A downbeat philosophy professor played by Joaquin Phoenix finds a zest for life after contemplating committing a crime. A clever, occasionally witty, wordy film with fine performances from Phoenix and especially the other lead, Emma Stone. It starts off as mostly a drama, but both the drama and the comedy grow darker later in the film, and this mix is well handled by director Woody Allen. The use of two narrators is excellent and the frequent playing of the jazz instrumental The In Crowd by The Ramsey Lewis Trio is enjoyable. Also starring Parker Posey,Ethan Phillips,Betsy Aidam,Jamie Blackley,Tom Kemp and Sophie van Haselberg. 7.5/10
