Lincoln 9/10
Being a history lover, i've been chomping at the bit to see this as soon as i saw the trailer, and it's just fantastic. Daniel Day Lewis gives an absolutely incredible performance, they should give him the best actor oscar now imo. This is Speilberg at his best, i was that engrossed two and a half hours flew by. A must see.
^^ I'll make sure I watch Lincoln now. I was waiting for someone to do a review before I go and see it, so now I will. Probably tomorrow evening.
Watched Gladiator (2000) which was on ITV2 last night. Amazing to think that this was over a decade ago, that time has flown past. Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Richard Harris and Oliver Reed, in his final film, are all excellent. Swords and sandals epic that pulls at the heart strings and deservedly claimed all three best film awards of that year. It swept to victory at the Oscars, BAFTAS and Golden Globes. 5/5
Judge Dredd (2012) So much better than the Stallone version, which failed on several levels. Helmet off, Rob Schneider (wanker), Dredd kissing (WTF?) and a bad guy whose performance gives bacon a bad name!
Looper 8/10 Love movies with time travel and all the paradoxes they throw up.
only flaw was the narrator died, so how could he tell the story in the first place?
I have been to see Lincoln tonight. I am happy to report it is worth it, and then some. Daniel Day-Lewis excels at everything he does - this is no exception. If this doesn't sweep the board at the Oscars I'll be very surprised. I know the academy love a good patriotic biographical drama, so it should get a good showing. 5/5
Altogether now:-
"Yes we'll rally round the flag, boys, we'll rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom,
We will rally from the hillside, we'll gather from the plain,
shouting the battle cry of freedom!"

I didn't think that was a flaw, more like another purposeful mind fuck!
Django Unchained 7/10 not bad not great
Bullet To The Head
A watchable action thriller, with Stallone in good form, some good bursts of violence, a predictable plot, but enjoyable none the less. 7/10

Watched that myself today, a good return to form for Sly.
Batman: Under The Red Hood, another great DC animated movie. Batman is voiced here by actor Bruce Greenwood (Captain Pike in the Star Trek Reboot) and The Red Hood voiced by Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester in Supernatural) and Nightwing voiced by Neil Patrick Harris. A simply must have in your collection 9.5/10.
