W.E (2009) Directed by Madonna this is two stories in one film the relationship between Wallis Simpson(Andrea Riseborough) and the future King Edward VIII(James D'Arcy) in the 1930s and a woman(Abbie Cornish) in a failing marriage in 1990s who becomes obsessed with the Simpson/Edward romance. Criticised on its release maybe partly following the very good and successful King's Speech, this film is a strange one. The 1930s scenes are much more interesting than the 1990s ones, although Cornish is very good and Oscar Isaac and Richard Coyle are fine too, I reckon the Simpson Edward storyline would have made a good film on its own. Nicely shot, but some of the cutting between scenes and the time zones is over showy and annoying.Also the attempt to connect the Cornish the and Riseborough characters doesn't really come off. The main pluses are the performances, Riseborough is very convincing, D'Arcy too as the playboy Royal with political ideas, also Freddie Fox as the future King George VI and Natalie Dormer (George's wife, our Queen's mother) provide fine cameos. Also starring David Harbour, James Fox(King George V),Haluk Bilginer(Al-Fayed) and Geoffrey Palmer(Stanley Baldwin) 6/10.
Fast and Furious 8
I managed to see the film yesterday but didn't have time to put up a review plus the site has been down.
I really enjoyed the film what I like is the film knows what it is and doesn't take it self serious. If you liked the previous over films then you'll like this film.
The storyline is nothing new but it's always been about the action and special effects which this film has tons of.
The cast as always is great you get the sense that they are a family something which has always been important throughout the franchise but there not just a family on screen but you can tell they are off screen.
Jason Statham and The Rock stole the show for me with the banter between the two, for me Jason Statham stood out as one of the best chracters in the film there are a couple twists with his character and also through out the film and ending even a few cameos.
Couple negatives Charlize Theron didn't do much through out the film now she's a fantastic actress and talented too but for me was wasted and ending with her was anti climatic, secondly Dame Helen Mirren cockney accent was dodgy as fuck, aside from that highly recommend the film, if you want action, humour, fast cars, music then it's the film for you.
Why they need to change the title of the film
in the U.K is beyond me lol.

Shock Waves[aka Almost Human and Death Corps](1977)
During the second world war,Nazi scientists create a platoon of indestructible soldiers that are submerged in a shipwreck off an island near Florida,whose only inhabitant is an ex-Nazi commander player by Peter Cushing.Ken Wiederhorn's film isn't really anything special but it does have good makeup effects and a fine performance from Peter Cushing.

Experimenter (2015) The story of social psychologist Stanley Milgram (played by Peter Sarsgaard) from 1961 onwards when he conducted controversial behavioural experiments at Yale University,relating mostly to obeying authority figures. An interesting film, using such devices as Sarsgaard talking directly to the camera and deliberately false backdrops to tell his story, both work and personal, although even at one hour 40 minutes, it does feel slightly too wordy and overlong. Plenty of originality, however, in the way the story is presented. Also starring Wynona Ryder(Mrs Milgram), Edoardo Ballerini,Jim Gaffigan,John Palladino & Pascal Yen-Pfister. 6.5/10
The Book Of Eli(2010) Set in post apocalyptic America, Denzil Washington stars as Eli, who has chosen to travel West to deliver a special book. Much of the story and set up aren't particularly original, but the film's chief assets are Washington's quietly determined performance, scenes involving Washington and Mila Kunis, and striking, both in camerawork and colour, cinematography. Gary Oldham does his familiar villain role. Also starring Jennifer Beals, Ray Stevenson, Malcolm McDowall, Michael Gambon,Frances De La Tour & Tom Waits. 6.5/10
Revenge of the Zombies(1943)
Steve Sekely's film features an unusual group of racially integrated zombies which makes it stand out especially in the period it was made and released.John Carradine is solid in the lead role.

Bachelor Party (1984)
Riotous comedy with Tom Hanks as an immature bus driver all set to get married, but not before his friends throw him a wild, out of control, blowout party.
Quite a lot of funny stuff here, with a typical 80s feel to it (which is a good thing).

The Ring(1927) Carl Brisson stars as a boxer in Hitchcock's drama who has to fight, literally, for the love of his wife (Lillian Hall-Davis) with rival(Ian Hunter).A fairly basic storyline, but Hitch brings a bag of tricks, many from his time in Germany, watching the Expressionism film makers, including dream and drunk sequences, and dark, empty backgrounds. He also has a handle on realistic crowd scenes and smoky fairground boxing bouts. The fights themselves are filmed from a variety of angles. Probably his best silent film after The Lodger. Also starring Forrester Harvey,Harry Terry, Gordon Harker(providing some comic relief) and Clare Greet. 7.5/10
