At least he won't be standing in the way if the election vote goes the way of the Govt (which I doubt it will), but there hsve been times when he has been a cunt in this saga

n.i was strongly remain, but would deffo be in favour of the backstop. overwhelmingly so.
Seems everyone apart from the DUP are in favour of the backstop
^ And Johnson does not need them now as he does not have a majority even with them supporting him. The EU originally suggested the Backstop cover the Island of Ireland only and "the border" would be in the Irish Sea. That was rejected and changed to include the whole of the UK.
All those Brexiteers who swore blind they would stand up for the DUP might just find they have a decision to make
^ Who would have thought a dirty deal/power grab would have ended up being a poisoned chalice. lol.

In favour is a bit strong, but given the frontier EU/non EU - most see the necessity to avoid hard border infrastructure! Nobody with an ounce of sense wants that!! What annoys me is that those who stand against the backstop, have no realistic alternative.
To be fair, at least the UUP (that is the Ulster Unionist Party for the uninitiated) have come forward with suggestions as to how this may be solved - including indemnifying the EU if any goods etc that don't meet EU standards slip through!
On the bright side, Boris Johnson could go down in history as the only Prime Minister to have never won a vote.
Sounds about right.
It would take Brexit off the front pages if he DID!!
2nd attempt by Johnson for election vote fails - I think he's lost more votes in as many days than May.
He's seriously f*****ed, the Govt is Fucked, the country is fucked.
Dodgy Dave Cameron got us into this mess - he now should be doing something to get us out of it

Too little too late. Cameron would have no credibility now if he sought to intervene! He got us into this mess for purely political reasons - that was to see off UKIP/BNP - Backfired spectacularly!! I am one of those who don't jump on the he/she must resign at every turn (both business or political) bandwagon. It rarely solves the issue, but merely passes the parcel (often ticking). I think such clamouring for 'heads on stakes' is for the optics only, and is often media driven....should never allow them to set the agenda! Far better to put the onus on those who ' made the bed' to 'lie in it' It is for this reason, that I have a fair degree of sympathy for T May. She stepped up, and acted in good faith!
I do, however, think that T May should have striven to make the process a cross party issue, given the magnitude of it, and the constitutional imperative! It was never right to hold onto it, as if some form of intellectual property!
