Sure, nothing I have stated or posted is factually incorrect.

But it did get me thinking about it.

The deal with the terrorist was, if they gave up their arms their political wing would be allowed political inclusion.

Yes, it's doing a deal with terrorist, but equally it has saved a lot of lives on both sides since (and I'm sure Northern Ireland is a lot safer place now for people), so sometimes you have to bite the bullet and do what you don't want to at times; that being my original point.

What people tend to forget that, and I don't like the man, it was not only Blairs best aachievement in government, but one of the best of any PM, it's just a shame poeple only seem to remebr Iraq.
I am also amazed that you took my comment about the Chinese and used it to lump it in with the IRA when you could have been bit more careful and not lumped the two issues together

I think you owe Terence a grovelling apology

I really dont.

I supplied two analogys to illustrate the world is not a bed of roses, some times for the greater good you have to do a deal with the devil and difficult decisions have to be made. The steel workers losing their jobs is terrible for them and their families, but you can't stop trading with china over it.

I'm genuinely amazed people didn't know Sein Fein was the political wing of the IRA; like with the Churcill, I just assumed everybody would have understood what I meant without any question or problem; guessng it's an age thing.

I'm even more amazed that people would take such offence at what is an historical fact, but he's Irish so I asusme it's more of a sensitive issue for him than I.

I could do with an apology for being swore at and abused by a mod again if they are being handed out though.

Way of the world unfortunately.

that's the fuckin stupidest, most moronically offensive thing you've ever posted on this forum. and for you, that's saying something!

And how the fuck did you manage to crowbar 'EU Remainer' into the same sentence as 'murdering terrorist'?
Your pathetic 'I'm neutral' mask has slipped again. Explain to me clearly and concisely* how that's relevant to the current situation at Stormont.
And, before you start whining about being insulted, I voted remain and I'm insulted by the link you've made there.

Why should he have to apologise to you?
you caused the offence in the first place in bringing up a such sensitive subject, yes we all know the history of what has happened with Northern Ireland but I think it is one subject that many of us wherever we come from on this forum would want to seen brought up and want to discuss

You'd be wrong again.

It is not good enough merely to read a post, you need to UNDERSTAND a post wthin the context of what was being discused, not remove four word for your own ends.

I'm not saying remainers are terroist if that laughable strawman nonsense is what you're trying to cook up in your head. I was't actually even talking about brexit/remain, I was replying to Babewhatsit comment on China. That is, some times you have to cut deals with people you'd rather not. Churchill letting troops be killed (apparently that is fine) and the British government cutting deals with terroist, which esentially is what happened where two examples.

Was Gerry Adams assotiated with terroism? Is Sein Fein the political wing of he IRA

And from the link I provided:

[quote]Sinn Fein has called for a referendum on a united Ireland after accusing English voters of "dragging Northern Ireland out of the EU".[/qute]

So Gerry Adams has 'crowbared' the aims of the republicans, in a nut shell, Sein Fein and Gerry Adams have jumped on the opputuaty to try and push for a united Ireland; and what was the aim of the IRA? He knew he wouldn't stand a cat in hells chance in a normal referendum and has hijacked Brexit for that aim.

Different coat same old stink under it.

Like I say, everything I stated was factually correct. In this instance it's not even about Brexit or Remain.
(17-01-2017 21:22 )babelover48 Wrote: [ -> ]Why should he have to apologise to you?

You don't, Terence does.

And quite fankly, why would historical events cause offence? I'm genuinely bemused by the reaction to it. I gave two analogies, one about British troops being killed in WW2 (apparently ok) the other about the British governman dealing with who they didn't want to.

To be honest, I simply cannot see how anybody could take any offence whatsoever about my examples.

Either they saw the word remianer and some form of histerical over reacton happened, or it's merely an excuse to have a pop at me again, I favour the latter.

Dude, if I wanted to be offensive about anything, there is a hell of a lot more things in the world I could use instead, rather than historical facts.

But why let reasoning get in the way of a good ol wakawoo bashing.
