I'd add that it's one Brexit is unlikely to solve.

May or may not, who knows.

But it does seem to have become more of an issue since 2004 with EU members, but, a problem with refugees from outside of Europe..

The only thing we've established with certainty is - how crap you are with figures.

The difference between net and gross is schoolboy stuff Wink
This is a link to a map, which shows how eurosceptic different areas of the UK are. Not sure how accurate it is though.

You'd be wrong then, the figures were fine, I wasn't sure what net and gross meant, I stated this clearly, I asked and got an answer; now I know. To be honest with you, I don't ever rememeber doing net and gross at school, but it was 34 years ago.

How about this for maths.

If it stays around 637,000 per year over the next 10 years (and whos to say it wont get worse), that will be an additional 6,370,000 surge in the population with only 3,070,000 leaving it. A population swell of an additional 3 million in a decade.

Even the government are quite 'dissapointed' at the figures.

And I'm pretty sure they all wont be skilled people adding to the economey.

Yeah, ok. You were only 1435% out, my bad Rolleyes

Moving on... there's a decent overview of all the issues surrounding a possible exit here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-32793642

The financial stuff is half way down. Note the link to The City's think tank that doesn't like the idea of leaving much. The City is of course one of huge importance and influence to the UK economy.

This report outlines the changing shape of Britain's economy and where we should be trying to focus in the post-2008 world: http://www.theguardian.com/business/econ...now-ons-g7) (Sadly, wackawoo's farmers will not be looked on as particularly important to the UK's finances by the government economist's as they account for only 1% of GDP.) It highlights, amongst other things how absolutely crucial exports are to our recovery.

Then as has been much in the news lately: The Governor of the Bank of England also thinks Berxit's a bad idea for Britain... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/hom...19706.html ... But he's not choosing sides of course! Huh

...And the link's not even from The Guardian! Smile

Ok lets clear things up a bit here shall we.

I am not a political animal, I have never claimed to be, I think I have voted 3 times in all my life, I don't vote because I think they are all a bunch of self serving power mongers; whoever has been power it has never really had any effect on my life personally.

Europe is a hugely different situation all together. Again, I have absolutely no knowledge of European politics but i am considering voting, at the moment that vote is more than likely to be an out vote, but one based on gut reaction rather than informed knowledge, however, I would like to be as fully informed as I can be before making my decision to vote out, or not to vote at all; I will not vote for in since there seems to be a majority for that. So all these questions I am asking are for a reason, and all the challengers to the responses are there to clarify the facts of the matter in my mind. I cannot be the only one in this situation.

it's just very very sad of you to use that to try and humiliate me (and I do remember you as been part of the 'clan' you know). Yes, you may know more about gross and net but you know what? I bet I know an hell of a lot more about molecular biology than you do; horses for course as they say.

From my reading it wasn't quite clear whether it meant 600,000 came in with 300,000 leaving the country, which essentially it DOES mean but in a SLIGHTLY different way than I thought, that is, the indigenous population leaving rather than immigrants being asked to leave. This you put right and if you look at your ratings I actually gave you a positive rating and thanked you for the clarification.

So rather than being personal and trying to be superior (because I could be superior to you on other subjects), try and respond in an objective manner and try not to let your deep dislike of words on a web page written by somebody you do not know get in that way.

This can be done, as eventually the issue over immigration shows; I now know, using links on here, provided by people on here and crossed check elsewhere that immigration is in fact a problem, with open boarders allowing migration of people from poor countries to rich partly to blame, especially since 2004. The long term affects whether positive or negative cannot be know; some say they are all skilled with jobs and add to the economy; others that most are claiming benefit and has they get older will then become a drain on resources.

PS I can do a bit of mean analysing when I have a mind too, but far and away more advanced than gross and net.
