Yes I read all that, nevertheless three said that it was lawful to go ahead with out the vote, 8 others agreed with this, but there was a point of law relating to the EU, which is not about UK sovernity.
I did post a link earlier, but the link as been removed, the quote from it:
Quote:While the court agreed that the Government do generally have "prerogative" power - the power to act without consulting parliament. But the Supreme Court decided that in this case the government must pass an act of Parliament to trigger Article 50 .
Their main reason was that when the UK joined the EU, the Union was able to create UK laws - and that can only be reversed with legislation . They also decided an act of parliament would be necessary because the rights of UK citizens would change
I also read the bullshit the woman was coming out with today when she was moaning about the hate emials etc, that is was absolutely nothing at all to do with Brexit, go tell that to the marines.
Predictably, leavers are blubbing their little eyes out because teachers took the ball away and gave it back to it's rightful owner...
This is the sovereignty they so badly wanted
I don't have a problem with Parliament having a vote on it. It should expose quite a few MPs who think the opinion of their constituents doesn't matter.
Yesterday's ruling has also wound up that horrible Sturgeon creature which can only every be a good thing.

It's nothing to do with Sovereignty, that old excuse should be buried.
A sovreign government voted in by the people and then that government giving ALL people the choice to take the UK out of the EU via a demographic vote AND has the royal perogative by law (fully acknoledge) has been ignored by a mere 8 people.
The whole challange was brought about by two immigrants to block the Brexit process. It was blocked over a loop hole regarding a point of law only. A law that was more to do with EU law making over the UK than anyhting to do with UK sovereignty.
Sovereignty is just a bull shit excuse to hide behind.
Chances are that Brexit will happen any way, all this is doing is drawing out the process and causeing even more divisions.
the current government with an un elected pm don't have a specific mandate for negotiating brexit, and don't seem to have a coherent plan. for something this big, there should be a general election. let everyone state their intentions and let the people decide who they want to lead them through this.

Wrong.

Wrong.
Keep up your intake of fluids to avoid further dehydration.
Am I the only one who just disregards the poorly thought through stream of consciousness nonsense that wackawoo posts (always with his customary atrocious spelling and grammar)?
To me this comment of his sums him up perfectly:
"The whole challange was brought about by two immigrants to block the Brexit process. It was blocked over a loop hole regarding a point of law only. A law that was more to do with EU law making over the UK than anyhting to do with UK sovereignty."
*I've highlighted the utterly irrelevant point in bold*
The rest is pretty much tosh too!
