its not like the Military have bunker busting bombs though

It reminds me when Al Capone got locked up for tax evasion, and not for all the murders and running organised crimes.
I sincerely hope that the prosecutors know something that they’ve not yet made public, because this otherwise plays straight into the hands of the MAGA narrative about ‘political persecution’ and the weaponisation of the justice system.
I can’t stand the man, but even I think it’s a little nutty to bring charges against a former president for something so minor, more than 6 years after it happened, and 2 years since he left office.
The disaster scenario, to my mind, is that they very publicly indict him, try him, and he’s acquitted … That’s just going to end in his re-election!
They better have more, they need to make sure he can't legally run for office ever again, America is fucked otherwise.
In fact, we are all but guaranteed a modern civil war (a culture/civil war of sorts) if he gets re-elected. Not good for the world.
I honestly don't understand the thinking of his 'followers', he clearly isn't a man of the people (wealthy and privileged), he clearly is out of touch/delusional (lies, lies and lies about everything), he clearly isn't a man of god (divorced, sexual predator) and he clearly isn't fit for office (impeached, twice), yet the Republicans and their conservative base seem to love the guy, it's gone beyond him being a useful idiot for the party. I thought cult leaders were supposed to be charming and charismatic, and that's how they attract their victims.
If the Grand Jury agree to his indictment we’ll have confirmation then what the charges are but bear in mind his accountant was jailed and one of the counts he pled guilty to was a campaign finance breach at the behest of “the candidate”. That was the payments to Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet during the 2016 campaign.
There are other cases also moving along - The attempt to overturn the election result in Georgia in 2020 where the evidence seems pretty compelling & the Mar a Lago Top Secret Documents case.

“I hate the same people you hate…”
That’s his pitch. That’s his appeal.
It’s a sad state of affairs, but that’s where we are.
A platform of hate is a sad state of affairs indeed. We also can blame social media and reality tv for his rise among the terminally stupid.
Fucking hell, if Trump does manage to get back into power, America is truly doomed. Wacko in Waco should be the tag for that nonsense.
The danger he presents to so many people is beyond a joke, we really are seeing America become an Idiocracy before our eyes
Also, I'm not liking that everyone is going after the trans community in campaigns/rallies, leave them alone ffs!
Haven't checked US news for a bit. Did i miss anything ?
