He'll be looking to do a deal on peaceful transfer that includes immunity from prosecution.
Seems like a lose lose for dems if they do this. Would be VERY unpopular with most of the dem base and Trump would just spend the next four years doing the same right wing shtick anyway in the build up to the next presidential election. Stoking all the same fires in the lead up to either running again himself or backing someone of a similar political mindset.
Well i would say they would have to find a way to keep him quiet or ensure
he can'r interfere so I wpolfs give him a one way ticket and residency in either to Russia or Mexico for four years

Oh he won't get it. Just saying that's how his tiny mind works

I still wouldn't put it passed the establishment Democrats to put some sort of immunity deal on the table to "heal" the nation, even though they'll never get the 30% to 40% of die hard trumpers to come around or in some misguided attempt to get moderate Republicans on their side, they really have no idea how to fight, either that or they truly have no spine for a fight
It won't be the Democrats offering any deals, he can pardon himself or Pence could take over and make any lingering Federal issues go away..

A self pardon or one issued by Pence would leave Trump to fight the shitstorm awaiting him in NYC with his own money...or do a runner to somewhere the Manhattan DA can't get to him.
What's he going to be pardoned for, though.
He hasn't been convicted of anything, and is unlikely to be before he leaves office.
There are still potential obstruction of justice charges lingering from the Mueller report. It's not likely that he'd be charged upon leaving office but it is possible.
They could likely get him on the emoluments clause if they wanted to really go after him.
^What clause would that be and how serious is it?

I don't remember the exact wording, but Nixon was essentially "pre-pardoned" for any crime that he might be convicted for in connection with Watergate. So there must be a way to do it.
I think it's moot anyway, because he could only pardon himself for Federal crimes and most of his problems --
if he really has any -- are at with state prosecutors. Yes, there are obstruction of justice issues lingering from the Mueller probe, as well as emoluments clause issues. But the price of moving beyond Trump is probably to leave those worms sealed in their current can.
My guess is that his biggest problems will be around tax evasion and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (...essentially helping foreign officials to launder money through investment in Trump real estate projects). No guarantee that he'll be found guilty of either, but even if he is, it's probably just a hefty fine and a source of new grievance with which to fuel a never-die Trump movement.
There has only ever been ONE way to defeat Trump ... Ignore him.
I found this quite funny, and relevant as "trump Turnberry" is only 16 miles down the road from where i live
