My father read something online but I've not seen anything reported-apparently a supporter of that bastard Stephen Yaxley-Lennon(Tommy Robinson) stabbed the Trump blimp. A woman was arrested for having a sharp instrument or dangerous weapon. I also read another woman yelled out at him "NAZI!" and then via Twitter apologised most profusely for her outburst saying she was ashamed of herself and let herself and others down. She was really only saying out loud what some people inwardly think I suppose - when will people learn not to get carried away on a public website or social media site like that.
I don't think they would really care what he thinks tbh, he doesn't understand how tariffs work, so an even more complicated issue like this. lol.
^couldn't give a shit tbh.
The Tariffs that are being imposed are hurting mid western farmers in the US, these are his MAGA hat wearing base, I have seen them being interviewed and they admit that the trade war is hurting them but they still support The President and his action because they like that someone, as they see it, has their back and that it will pay off in the long run. What helps in selling it is that though certain things that Trump has said in the past about China are ludicrous, they invented climate change as a hoax to subvert US dominance, a lot of the grievances he has with China are legitimate, their theft of American patents and intellectual property for example, so when someone comes along and cites real concerns people who find themselves at the wrong end of these concerns are willing to listen to someone who will try something different and take a tough stance.
All of this is emblematic of a large part of the current political zeitgeist of nationalism and protectionism. Whether it be Trump and his trade wars or Brexit and the loss of growth, industries, jobs, potentially the NHS and tariff free trade with our biggest customer, people are voting for economic pain in exchange for a sense of cultural fulfilment. As I said before it's no longer "it's the economy stupid", now we are in a phase of "it's cultural, stupid".
The Turkey's are voting for Christmas in the hope it will spite the foreigner
