Trump's odds in states he HAS to win in order to retain the presidency:
Ohio - Even
North Carolina - 2/3
Arizona - 1/3
Florida - 3/7
Pennsylvania - 1/5
Amazingly, Florida was even in September and then turned on a dime when the post-debate polls came out. Must be all the creepy old grandpas who identify with Biden.
Florida has a very high percentage of seniors (over 65). They were the only group were Trump led Clinton in the opinion polls, by about 5 points.
Biden now leads Trump by over 20 points in the seniors.
That is one hell of a swing, by any standard.
I wonder why that would be...
For all my optimism that Trump can't win and that our long international nightmare is nearly over, I dreamed up a horrible scenario last night.
The discovery of a credible vaccine is announced within the next couple of weeks. Trump takes credit for the whole thing, as if he came up with it himself. He'll announce it in a televised address from the oval office, with some conspicuously placed beakers and bunsen burners behind him.
("I made a beautiful vaccine. It's the best! And it tastes minty, I dunno, that's what people are saying...")
And even if there is a large portion of the population that would still want to light him on fire with one of those bunsen burners, it is still the type of "October Surprise" that could tighten up the race enough for him to squeak through with a popular vote loss, but electoral college win.
Brrrrr ... it all gives me the shivers.
There's an old expression 'There's no flies on me' meaning that he's not dull or slow. But for Mike Pence last night one landed on his head for two minutes.
Took me back to Westworld.

He doesnt help the cause by politcising the FDA and CDC and tweeting crap
I thought the latest debate was pretty even, but a CNN poll has Harris winning in the opinion of 59% compared to 38% who thought Pence won. There were certainly less interruptions this time, but still 16 by Pence and 9 by Harris.
