(24-07-2021 23:06 )The Silent Majority Wrote: [ -> ]You should get in touch with the NY District Attorneys office. I'm sure they could use some help from someone with inside knowledge of Trumps finances...

The information on Trump's loans and mortgages is already a matter of public record. As President he was required to file an annual financial disclosure report which lays it all out, item by item, deal by deal.

You were talking about his private money.

Mar-a-Lago, like his other properties, is run as a business. Even if he's living there.

The finance payments will be tax deductible.

Is the point in issue not Trump's (business) liquidity?

I suppose it depends on how you interpret HannahsPet's comment which started the discussion that "he doesnt have his own money".

Incidentally, one of Trump's disclosed deals is that he owes one of his own companies $50m, a debt on which he claims to pay $4.4m a year in interest.
Trump may have a sizeable fortune tucked away, or he might not. Very few people will know the truth. What I'm saying is, your logic that he can't have money because he has debts, is flawed. Trump, or indeed big business in general, doesn't work that way for reasons I've already mentioned.

So his own company is charging him 9% interest on the borrowed money. Doesn't sound like he's given himself a very good deal there.
Of course it's possible the interest payments are tax deductible. And it's equally possible he's taking $4.4m a year back out in dividends.

Headline numbers like that tell us very little about what's really going on.

I'm saying he doesn't have liquidity, which is a different matter entirely.

It's also possible that he's using his own company as a front and the true source of the loan is being disguised.

No it's not. There's nothing more liquid than actual money.

We just don't know.

Of course, anything is possible, when the only information we have to go on is these tiny snippets of information. It could be dark or laundered money. It could be a tax dodge. Or it could be a perfectly legit inter-company loan. We just don’t know.

But the media’s track record of casting suspicion over Trump’s every action is not great. Every time they find a suspicious little nugget, they get carried away with breathless enthusiasm about what it might mean — and it never turns out well.

The whole Russia ‘conspiracy’ genuinely was a storm in a teacup. The Ukraine call was scandalous, but even I don’t think it was an impeachable offence. And the NYT didn’t report anything about his tax returns that sounded outside the norm for any rich guy with access to expensive lawyers and accountants.

Every time we over-reach or make premature accusations based on suspicion or innuendo or ‘that-looks-dodgy’ suppositions, Trump somehow skates away laughing and gives his supporters something to crow about.

It obviously doesn’t matter what we say on a babeshow forum and I suppose we can speculate to our hearts content. But I really hope that the media — for once — doesn’t get ahead itself and just lets the story play out.

There’s a lot of smoke, but there’s no fire … yet.

No we don't know, indeed we don't, but I remain happy with the first comment I made on this subject, which was that "I doubt that Trump has any money hidden away."
You could well be right. It's just your reasoning that was flawed.
My reasoning would be flawed if it was based on Trump's leveraged business deals, as you claim, but those were never part of my thinking at all, as they are nothing out of the ordinary.

His loans and mortgages are part and parcel of his business deals.

You're just going round in circles now, looking for an off-ramp.
