Listening to the Trump speech couldn't help but draw parallels with 1930's Berlin. Nasty foreigners and the old ' establishment' to blame for everything, demand for unquestioning patriotism and any dissent is unpatriotic, build the country up again with new infrastructure projects and build up the military.
All this "he is basically hitler" talk is complete garbage, to think will ever see events comparable to what happened during the second world war under the nazis is lunacy and quite frankly very insensitive.
Trump is an idiot not a genocidal tyrant

Well clearly not, nor did I say he was, apologies if that impression was given. I was merely pointing out the clear paralells of a political ideology playing on the same base human instincts to garner power.
Looking at the comments on here, I think a lot of the problem is with people, especially young ones, is being bat shit scared to be proud of their country. It's almost as if they are brain washed to think thinking being proud of your own country is some form of rampant racism. He didn't say white americans he said Americans, who come in all sorts of shapes and sizes hues and nationalities; all American.
Puts me in mind of the remainers who tried to pull the race card, when race was really not the issue.
There's nothing especially wrong with him saying he's going to put America first, that's what he should do. it's his job, Britian has been guilty, and is, of being too politically correct.
What I find more interesting is this talk about not spending so much abroad and protecting foreign boarders. What's he going to do, call back all of the American troops from the middle east?

There's certainly nothing wrong with being proud of your country, as long as you don't try to make out that it's being overrun with immigrants, migrants etc, etc, as in nearly every case, it's utter nonsense and used to push racist agendas.
His America probably does include all races, but he has used peoples heritage against them before...which is racist.
Putting your country first is great (charity begins at home and all that), provided that your country and your policies are inclusive to everyone that lives in and visits. He's made comments that aren't exactly giving off that vibe. Added to that, his comments about NATO are worrying, no country can solely focus on itself...unless you're talking North Korea that is.
A think tank had a list of things to cut/change to make savings, so you never know what they've come up with to cost cut abroad. I can't imagine it being great for the world if they start withdrawing troops, aid and support from various places.
