Tesco Fined £10m for daiy price fixing

Tesco has threatened legal action after being hit with a £10m fine from the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) following an inquiry into the price fixing of dairy products.

"We surely have now reached the stage where the absurdity of the OFT operating as investigator, prosecutor and judge cannot be allowed to continue," said Lucy Neville-Rolfe, Tesco's director of corporate and legal affairs"

Hmmm, any parallels spring to mind?
Is Flirt TV2 on Sky 933 what Ofcom would like all the Babechannels to be like?

Quite. Unfortunately that statement will attract about 100X as much press than it would if, say, Bang Media or Sport had said it when they got fucked up the arse.
Not sure if this has been discussed before, but can anyone tell me why the subscription channels are allowed to air bad language and nudity before 10pm in their fta previews?
Ofcoms attitudes survey viewed an adult channel trailer. It was decided that a mitigating factor was that as a trailer it was legitimate to represent the content, within limits, in the subscription content. So a free to air advert for a subscription channel can show content that would not be legal on an advertising (teleshopping) channel.

In all comes down to that dread word, context. A brief freeview exists to inform, rather directly solicit telesales. Its aim is to publicise content and sell subscriptions, rather than push chatlines.

Thats Ofcoms view. In their lunatic world an image of a rubber clad woman sucking a dildo while having her breasts sucked is withing the limits of acceptability on channel 913 at 10pm but any one element of that (rubber, dildo, nipple sucking) would land a neighbouring free to air channel in trouble if broadcast at 3am.

Lunacy.

Makes you wanna puke!
I would love to see ofcom relax the rules on channels i mean for good sake there adult channels what do they expect, but sadly i don't see them changing any time soon as there a law on upon themselves and i can't see the government clamping down as i guess they don't wanna be seen defending this kind stuff. I don't expect the channels to be hardcore and at least be given the freedom to do more then what there doing now. Even the rules do get relaxed one day its gonna be down to the producers as to what goes on with the channels as in the past i found some of the producers on some channels were good on putting together and some of them weren't and seemed almost scared of pointing the camera at the model's body.
Without ofcom imagine the babe channels on a good night and mutiply that by 10 as with the amount of channels on the Adult EPG the UK potentially could dominate the whole of Europe and would probably be the best too. Shame that Ofcom if not just fuck off, just cut the channels a bit of slack and allow them to freely express themselves in the manner in which they were intended to do so in the first place.
Having been working across the channel on mainland Europe it is somewhat frustrating that the images on free to air channels there is much more adult. Whilst not very explicit one is a'llowed' to see full frontal nudity, including outer labia after the watershed.

Most of it has a 16 warning as well! Which, if you think about it, should be the age limit for sex programmes. Think about it. Aunty UK says "You are 16 now, you can have sex. Just don't expect to be able to watch a film of it, or talk about it to a babe on the telephone!" Let's face it, the tv babes are much
nearer the age of a sixteen year old than most of the viewers and callers!
Ofcom are a joke if they don't understand there own rules and purpose.
