In a sense it's blatant robbery and easy money. To actually launch an investigation on the basis of one complaint should not be allowed to happen. Yes the people who complain are well aware of the channels and to be perfectly honest they probably don't offend them neither, but at the end of the day nobody should call the channels either because unless they are willing to take on ofcom the money which you spend calling into the shows effectively gets used to pay ofcom fines, the callers are actually funding ofcom without realising it.

Yh interesting points u made regarding callers effectively funding ofcom, that ship has sailed long ago for me, have no interesting ringing in and getting ripped off.
by the way Scottish bloke in regards to what can be shown on daytime shows, ur saying back in 2006 u would have been able to see the girls giving ass flashes, wear the skimpiest of clothes etc without ofcom intervening?

How much cleavage was shown, like was there a nipple shown. Because if there wasn't whats their point exactly. I see some female presenters on BBC, ITV or SKY show lots of cleavage during the day, but has there been any issue from Ofcom about that, I would interested to know that

But you can see much more from many of the female's costumes on 'Strictly Come Dancing' which is watched by millions and goes out at peak time on Saturday nights. I will admit that in the past I have been able to see some sense in many of Ofcom's judgements, but this really is crass almost beyond belief.
How about Holly Willoughby's giant tits being shown on the Voice or Dancing on Ice (don't get me wrong her tits are great), I didn't hear any complaints about that
The rise of ofcom was very gradual, when they came into existence back in 2003 they didn't go in charging like a bull, babe channels weren't really high on their list of priorities back then, we only really had babestation which shared its slot with gamestation a gaming show which was shown during the day and then babestation was allocated a few hours at nightime.

Only really once all the channels were grouped together in the one section back in 2006 was when ofcom really started to throw their weight around as by then we now had quite a few getting very successful and by that point they were showing the content which the punters wanted to see.

Babestar tv was a success but it would also prove to be their downfall when they had their licence revoked after a series of breaches, Sexstation TV was also good but after the demise of Babestar they no longer took any chances and their show was toned down substantially.

A lot of people will go on about the golden era but unfortunately they'll all been too brief. Until we see the channels declare war on ofcom with some kind of serious challenge I'd encourage every single person out there to stop ringing the shows, you are funding their payments to ofcom.

At £1.53 a minute aswell as a £2 connection charge the product is not good enough to justify that. I rarely call a babe channel these days, if I cannot have my needs satisfied then it's like pissing your money away.
I mentioned that Masti Chat had been found "in breach" a few days ago in the Masti Chat discussion day thread , it was only the freeview channel and owners "Square 1 management Limited" not Cellcast that were found in breach , the Sky channel that shows the same footage as the freeview channel is Dutch regulated so was not mentioned or found "in breach", i wonder if Ofcom not being able to do anything about content shown on the Dutch licensed freeview night channels as anything to do with them finding the day channel on freeview (Party) that shows the same feed as the Dutch Sky channels but are Ofcom regulated "in breach" ? (being vindictive)
Roundabout 2006 some of the encrypted channels thought that "light touch regulation" meant hardcore was permitted and tested the waters with glamour shows featuring finger and toy insertion. It took a while but Ofcom cottoned on an ended up finding against a Rubber Ron show.

That was probably the point at which the channels should have fought it all the way through the courts, arguing at least that Ofcom was guilty of unworkably vaugue rules and that a hefty fine was not justified for an honest minsunderstanding. Instead the channels took a dont rock the boat approach, privately tried to persaude Ofcom to change tack, but avoided public confrontation.

Look where it has got them.

There is a lingering suspicion that channels are warned off challenging Ofcoms authority, otherwise their content will be scrutinised much more closely and many investigations will follow.

If true - and there is no evidence that it is - it would amount to corporate bullying to prevent the exercise of legitimate legal rights (public debate, judicial review).

Who, if anyone sanctioned it? Was senior management even aware?

On a positive note, the speed limit is going to be raised to 80mph despite strong objections from bereved parents of accident victims. Dont believe that populist changes with moral objections never get through.
Maybe it's just me but I find it rather amusing after last nights debacle that this thead has died down so much and other ones now appear to be taking greater priority such as who is the most underated babe, hm.....seems to me like a lot of people seem to be perfectly happy to sweep this all under the carpet, not me however, we desperately need to get the product sorted out.

As I stated last night it was the first time I'd seen the babe channels in a week so going by the fact that very few alarm bells are ringing I have to ask the question was last night just a one off or have they been this way all week.

So what about ofcom are we just going to sit back idle and wait for change and hope one day all is right again, results don't happen unless some serious balls are shown by the channel execs.

I see Eurotic TV has just started on channel 915, oh and we can't see the later show because they like to show the vagina and as we all know ofcom don't and won't let us see that, god forbid what might happen if we were allowed to watch it on SKY, it ofcourse would seriously harm us but in saying that it's ok for Johnny fucking foreigner to see it, because unlike us the rest of Europe is mature enough to view that kind of content unlike us in the UK.

If nobody has signed the petition yet I urge you all to do so as time is fast running out as it closes in August.

Just signed the petition
I hear all this talk of challenging Ofcom and whilst I support that course of action, I suspect the channels are not challenging because they think that if they challenge Ofcom, they will come off far worse and might see their licences revoked.

I can't think of anything that the Babe Channels can use as leverage against Ofcom.

Oh and I've signed the petition - three times all under different names.
