Well i am not giving in seriously pissed off with this sexist act its getting fucking ridiculous ,women want equal rights well they have got no chance, equal rights means everything not what god damn well satisfys them when they feel like it,cant say anymore ..
Emmeline Pankhurst's protest movement was originally called the 'Suffravage' movement as she was furious that she couldn't flash her gash on the music hall stage.

She later incorporated voting rights and renamed it 'Suffragette'.

How she must turn in her grave as her original aim was never fulfilled. Luckily 'fedup' is here to fight the good fight. Smile

Well I've been off this forum for a good few nights due to work committments but I'm back Smile Rammy just what side of the fence do you sit on. When we had the petition on the go you initially supported it and now what you are effectively saying is you are not bothered by OTT censorship and ofcom, the word Judas springs to mind here Cool

Dave, it looks like Mathew Hopkins, Witchfinder General, has been re-incarnated and has been employed by Ofcon.
The only difference is that this is the 21st and not the 17th Century.

There are discussions earlier of not wanting to mention "flashes" of female bodies for fear of incurring the wrath of Ofcon. That, I have to say, is pathetic.
What has British society come to when you have an organisation such as Ofcon operating in this way?

What a bunch of lily -livered arseholes the broadcasters are.
Indeed, I think perhaps the whole witch-finding ethos is reborn in Ofcom!

Putting aside our annoyance, the subject of why the UK is alone in adopting this culture of antiquated prudishness is fascinating. I can't find an answer to it. If you look at mainland Europe they're broadly in agreement as to what is acceptable. Nudity and erotica is looked on as part of life - this includes Catholic and Protestant countries, from Northern Europe to the Med.

My theory is that this is an Anglo-Saxon thing - English rather then British. I'm convinced that once Scotland becomes a republic it will adopt a more mainstream Euro culture. It's always had close cultural and historical ties to France and they may well be rekindled.

Ireland is a bit of an anomaly - independent since 1922 but until fairly recently extremely conservative. Perhaps because it was essentially ruled by priests for at least 60 years after they kicked out the British. It's certainly much more European now, thank goodness.

We may need to wait for people who are now in their 20s to become middle-aged and in positions of power before we see a lasting change in England. Hope not!
Im going to pass up the opportunity to have a go at foreigners and their bedroom practices. Many women are far more bothered by employers who regard them as cheap disposable labour, financial meltdown, drink related violence, religious extremism and gang "culture" than the odd bit of sex on TV.

So far as they are interested in equalities issues the portrayal of women and relationships in popular media has a far bigger impact on their lives as well as the constant drinking culture in the soaps.

Ofcom seems to have eased off a bit recently - perhaps because the babe channels have given up - but until recently a very large fraction of Ofcoms investigation effort was spent on adult content despite almost zero complaints, and that took the spotlight off real issues.

A change of minister is an opportunity to get a fresh pair of eyes to look into matters, and a woman might be more likely to ask Ofcom to review their stance precisely because she would not be worried about personal repulation. Alternatively if she goes overboard on womens issues she can be accused of pursuing a minority agenda.
Getting back to Dave's point, although you do bring up some good points I think we all know the real reason's here. For example here in the UK we have the Sun newspaper which has published pictures of Page 3 girls since the 70's. It also went ahead and published the naked pictures of Prince Harry which just for the record I thought was bang out of order. One of the reasons why journalists have got the reputation of being referred to as scum.

Now a couple of years ago I visited prague on a stag outing and we did what all blokes do and this is to visit the various strip clubs. Just for the record the majority of people in the club were infact British so that kind of blows the Brits are prudish argument up in smoke.

I am of the opinion here that it is the politicians running this country that is the problem with censorship and has nothing really to do with society. Maria Miller has come in and replaced jeremy hunt and I will happily say good riddance to the cunt. Dodgy bastard who I wouldn't even trust in charge of a pie stall. We all know he had close ties to the ofcom whips so here's hoping that now he's out the door that our chances for change are increased.

i do support the petition but know there is little or no chance of things happening regarding the rules for the babeshows. there are more important things going on in the country at the moment than the babeshows and getting the rules changed
