It was a software glitch. The problem was fixed within 48 hours.
Virgin TV couldn't dictate anything anyway, except to their own customers. As already explained, Virgin Media do not run the country.

Right I think I mentioned this previously but come the end of March this year we will have a new head of Ofcom at the helm in the name of Patricia Hodgson, what a lot of people perhaps didn't know is the religious background of current chairman Colette Bowe who is a devout Catholic who posted this article on this website.

The Tablet is a religious website and Collette goes to great lengths here to discuss her faith which just might go to explain why we have had for so many years watered down shows across the whole board of the babe channels.
I hope once she leaves her post that the shows pick up again from what went previous and here was us all believing that it was ED Richards when we actually might have been blaming the wrong man
In reality, I'm not sure if religious affiliation makes much difference at Ofcom. It's a bizarre, self-perpetuating state machine with its own in-house moral codes which bear no relation to modern life (a bit like the Stasi

If this bill does get through im not sure we will see a masive change in allowable
babeshow content,but any reduction in Ofcoms powers and authority has to be a positive step forward,and the money saved could be directed to where it would be of more use,like helping those whose homes and businesses have been destroyed in the recent floods.

Not necessarily, if it means giving those powers to MP's, it could be a bad thing, we could be worse off than now.
Regulation should be as independant as possible, not a political issue (independant, but accountable, unlike Ofcom currently is).
That said, it doesn't sound like there is much chance of this succeeding, seems too many Lords are prepared to stop it progressing.
At the end of the day Ofcom has far to much power, which in my opinion is a very bad thing! However if Ofcom relinquish some of there powers over to the government then i think it might be a step in the right direction. I say maybe!! a step in the right direction, i agree with the previous post that we might be worse of if the politicians start getting involved.
I guess i'm just happy that bloody ofcom might get some of there powers stripped away from them, whether its a good thing or a bad thing well i guess time will tell.
I would not like to see politicians having any more say in the matters that ofcom currently mismanages. Mumsnet would provide the power then as Cameron(and others) look towards grabbing votes. We would end up with pianos having their legs covered as in Victorian times. Think of the hypocrisy of that era! I would rather not have that.
I think in the past I would have been punching the air in delight at the thought of ofcom's powers or even the organisation being disbanded. Its certainly an interesting read.
Just to echoe what a lot of other members have said, I also fear that if all the powers were transferred directly to the home office that censorship might even get worse.
Already Cameron and co have been calling for more restrictions to be put on the internet providers with some people now having to opt into watching adult material on the internet.
If all ofcom powers are transferred directly to the Government then it could well indeed spell the end for the 900 channels and thats probably the worst case scenario. Best case is that Babestation and co are given more freedom but bearing in mind we are living in a PC Britain you'd have to be a pure fantasist if you think for one minute that Cameron and co will allow any leeway when it comes to adult entertainment.
ITV gets away with ticking off when they should be fined,they did break a rule..So it happens again they get away with it by apologising..Utter rubbish, you broke a rule there is no deviation you should be fined you keep rule breaking & getting away with it by apologising.
