If Playboy were to go down the Dutch Licence route then that would be a massive boost and would also I feel force Babestation to call time on their BabestationX show, as it's the encrpted show in all honesty which Cellcast currently has which is probably the main reason why the main channel won't show more than let's just say tasteful nudity.

Interestingly I've been watching the eurotic tv webstream lately and their show is pretty much these days on a par with Babestation in terms of any of the nudity levels concerned. It makes you wonder if they have an overseas's licence why they don't try and make a comeback to the SKY EPG but only this time buy their own channel outright and broadcast it 24 hours a day.

I know I always tend to be overly optimistic at times and at the start of every New Year I always say this might just be the year when all barriers come crashing down, but I have a genuine feeling that 2013 might just be our year.

ED Richards seems to be losing interest in his job as chief executive as last year he tried twice to leave for pastures new, 3 times is a charm as they say. Also with regards to any form of censorship their seems to be a wind of change in regards to what the politicians think as that regulating the internet has more or less become something of a dead horse now.

Perhaps we are maybe just away to enter a new era of more liberation. The babe channels are I think no longer as shocking anymore and I feel more and more people are now becoming used to the fact that they are here and they are here to stay.

Last year was the first one I can remember in a long time that no channels really got into any serious hot water with regards to ofcom. Earlier in the year Ofcom got their first taste of defeat with regards to cellcast and since then they have backed off completely from trying to take things any further with Cellcast.

Defeat was something ofcom had never tasted before having pretty much had the channels by the balls for so many years with a reputation of screwing over the likes of Babestar TV and Bangbabes throughout their ruthless history.

Last night when Tiffany came on the mic and made the announcement of the new licence it was in effect a massive 2 fingers up to ofcom and further proof that change is going to happen whether these miserable censors like it or not.
Good post SB. Well I for one will be watching and recording Babestation tonight. They have in effect laid down the gauntlet lets hope they deliver. No more hot air please!!!

We want tits out at 21.00 right lol

Does that mean there is the possibility of proper 2 4 1s again like a few years ago?Huh

Well, that's the theory, Dan, but only time will tell.

That's certainly one of the things that could change if all this turns out to be true. The law (for want of a better word) states the watershed is 9pm. It's only the cockfaces at Ofcom that moved it to 10pm.
On the subject of new licences whether it means more channels going Dutch we still have the problem where certain models will always remain to still churn out tame performances.

This is also the case when it comes to the European channels such as eurotic tv and sexysat tv to a lesser extent but nonetheless we are still going to get model's who will never ever whip the panties off and reveal all.

This I don't mind just so long as we have a balance. At the moment when we see a channel put on a great show followed by a lacklustre one we automatically all come to the conclusion, bloody ofcom.

How good would it be if we could just say oh well..........I see they have all the tame models out in force tonight. This was part of the attraction of the channels in the old days before the rules and regulations were really enforced, in the past it was really a personal decision on how far certain models were willing to push it.

2006 is a year that stands out for me, some nights the shows would be truly rotten and other nights they would blow you away. Mind you just my luck, when it was a great night a lot of the time I had to get up very early for work.

Also back in the old days if the FTA channels were rubbish then you did have other options elsewhere. TVX Callgirls live, LiveXXX TV and SportXXX are all encrpted shows that spring to mind. It was the norm back then. These days we have next to nothing to choose from. BabestationX is the only one and judging by the reviews it's been blowing hot and cold and it will remain that way for the simple reason that it doesn't have any competition from elsewhere.

2013 I want to see if not better FTA content then at the very least nightly encrpted show's to choose from on the SKY EPG.
Officially the line is that to operate a TV service from a European country the bulk of management and/or operations must take place in that country. (Thats the gist of it but not word for word). Simply having a headquarters registered to a post office box is not enough (unlike tax).

A related area is regulation of TV on demand, regulated in the UK by ATVOD, the coregulator set up by Ofcom. They are cracking down on UK video on demand services unless a credit card PIN is typed in each time. (Check here for a lengthy list of determinations and services that closed in 2012 or here for determinations). Playboy said it was moving its web service to Canada but ATVOD still said it was a UK service because most of the staff and equipment were UK based.

ATVOD Playboy Ruling

Playboy location determination determination
Quote:However, it is ATVOD’s view that the evidence suggests transfer of editorial responsibility for the Service has not yet been completed. Written information on the site itself (Annex 4 - REDACTED) as at 14 September 2012 refers to PlayboyTV UK / Benelux Ltd and the associated UK address, and refers to the Terms and Conditions as being government by English law. Domain registration data suggests that Demand Adult is registered not to the Canadian entity but to the US address of Playboy Enterprises International Inc (Annex 5 - REDACTED). Furthermore, the email correspondence from David Cooke of 10 September 2012 (included in Annex 1 above) states that “[s]ince Montreal took over, we in the UK have been updating the sites as per the previous editorial plan, which was simply uploading content as it becomes available from the content department….we’re only refreshing with new episodes when they have been transcoded. Montreal…[have] not got around to taking a look at how they might change things more drastically in terms of presentation or sale yet”. This strongly suggests that PlayboyTV UK / Benelux Ltd retains editorial responsibility for the Service as defined by s368A(4) of the Act, ie. That PlayboyTV UK / Benelux Ltd still exercises general control over selection and organisation of the programmes constituting the Service. This is further supported by the fact that the overall design and layout of the Service does not appear to have changed in any significant details (Annex 6 - REDACTED).

Dutch licenses are only awarded to dutch companies. Cellcast's parent company is based in Netherlands, hence they can get the dutch license, all the other UK babechannels are UK companies.

From what i can gather unless i have got it wrong the Dutch company that is the licence holder of the BS channels that are regulated by the Dutch and not Ofcom are all owned by a Dutch registered company called 'GAME NETWORKS BV', it doesn't seem to be the parent company of Cellcast, just a separate company that they are associated with, i don't think Cellcast has a parent company and is a UK based company, it seems to me that BS/Celcast have a arrangement with Game Networks BV were they broadcast their BS shows on UK TV using their licence in much the same way as RLC use Playboy's Ofcom licence to broadcast their shows, Elite also used to use the Ofcom licence of TVX to transmit it's programs, so as i see it any UK based company could use the licence of a Dutch registered company to transmit it's programs on UK TV using the Dutch company's licence and wouldn't have to be registered in the Netherlands or have it's own licence, i could be wrong though .
Got to say nothing irk's me more than when a model says on the mic please only phone if you are old enough. Ofcom have already got it into their heads that somehow the babe channels are some kind of family show what with all the rules and regulations in place.

A model making such a statement over the mic does in my opinion only add further fuel to the fire. It's completely unnecessary. When will the channels learn.
That's a very good point, SB. Why advertise the fact that 14yr old boys are watching/calling these shows ??

In other news, not that I want to come across as impatient (and I did promise to stay optimistic Re BS new license), but if the channel is planning to take advantage of this development then last night's show would suggest they're in no hurry to do so. Despite the new license, last night was 'same old shit' Rolleyes

Or it's a way of indicating to any Ofcom-type bod monitoring the channels that the latter are employing responsible presenters who are properly self-policing, and take the problem of callers who aren't yet of the required age seriously. In other words, it's one of the few demonstrable ways they can show compliance and help take the heat off themselves. It's probably completely necessary.

It may be a requirement. I've often seen girls do their speech at the start of freeview, put the mic down, then told to pick it back up and add that bit if they forget.
