Well once upon a time I also used to also think that Ofcom's world was crumbling too. Ofcom are a massive problem helped by the fact they are continually being backed by Cameron and Clegg (AKA - Dumb and Dumber) such as the enquiry into the recent News Of The World phone hacking scandal. When Cameron took office in 2010 I was of the opinion at the time that Ofcom would have been one of the very first on the hit list based on Camerons previous comments on what he would do with Ofcom if he ever came to power. What a lieing bastard he turned out to be, politicians will feed you all kinds of bullshit when vying for votes. Infact this very subject probably gained him a lot of votes into the bargain. The only ones I feel who can bring down Ofcom now are the channel execs themselves but to date I've seen no such efforts taking place, Ofcom may very well be the laughing stock of Europe but at the end of the day it's them who ultimately will have the last laugh. Babestation didn't so much get a victory, it was more down to luck than anything that they gained the backing of Nicam, this was only a minor setback for Ofcom. Afraid to say it but the only thing we have left now is hope. I tune in night after night thinking will this be the night when the rules suddenly change, here's hoping that behind the scenes that some tough negotiations are taking place and that some day our wishe's come true

What I can't understand, it seems to be ok for Philip Schofiield & Holly Willabooby to show sexual positions and dildo use (not graphic) on daytime terrestrial telly, but naked ladies on a nighttime "Adult" show doing the exact same simulations is unexeptable,go figure.

Well there's one thing we can all agree on, is that Ofcom won't be there forever, the only question i guess we all have, is how much damage will be done when they finally clear there offices
In year 2 of a 4 year budget reduction plan.
Will eventually deliver 28.2% of savings.
The 2012/13 budget is £121.4 million including £7.2 million for PostCom. (£114.2 million excluding PostComm).
The 2011/12 budget was £115.8 million excluding PostComm.
By my reckoning that is a £1.6 million reduction - about 1.5%
Priorities are:
1. Promote effective and sustainable competition.
2. Promote the efficient use of public assets.
3. Help communications markets work for consumers.
4. Provide appropriate assurance to audiences on standards. This includes carrying out a review of regulation of video on demand and considering future approaches to content regulation.

IMHO we just have to realise that OFCOM are currently a law to themselves and the only way to get them to change is to threaten their fundamental existence (the gravy train junket factory - jobs for the old boys). Now, clearly there will always be a requirement for some of the OFCOM activities e.g. Spectrum Management etc. however the Taste and Decency policing element could be the straw that threatens to break the camels back and OFCOM as we know it could get fragmented and re-focused. Net result much less (or even no power) in our area of interest.
