Oh and its not just on the news where this old chestnut is being discussed, try all these stupid bastard womens lib programmes such as Loose Women and ofcourse This Morning (Remember that's the programme where we had a chef cook naked at 10 in the bastard morning)

I despise paying my fucking TV Licence just to be preached to by some arsehole hypocritical knows fuck all politician or women's right bitch who is using the oh what about the children, protect the children nonsense.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that what the parents are for. Anyhow we all know what the real reason is and it's of a vested hatred and obvious agenda against what they don't like.

The Adult Channel shows quite a lot of erect penises now. It's quite explicit and there are often scenes where the lady caresses the said penis. Fellatio is still, though, only allowed in silhouette or if the gentleman is wearing a pair of Y Fronts.

I suspect that this relaxing of the rules (erect penises in sex works were categorised as R18 by BBFC some yeas ago) may be due (my own guess) to the gay channel viewers complaining about total lack of eroticism without the erections on show.
I've not watched the Gay Channel (difficulty in explaining to my female partner that it's all in the name of research) so I don't know what goes on there so I could be talking absolute bull.

Anyway, talking of "bull" it's well to remind ourselves why we cannot see full R18 on UK tele. The ONLY reason, so we are told by Ofcon, is that they need to protect all the children who are watching these shows. Therefore, oral sex and penetration are dangerous to these kids. By default, everything that is shown is therefore Ok to be viewed by children.

Surely, nobody believes that crap from Ofcon yet they still peddle it and the thick broadcasters just bend over and take one for the good of the UK. Bravo, sirs.

Very delayed response to this, but what gay channel? There used to be two, one encrypted paid content and one free but clothed selling sex chat, didnt they both fold ages back? Sad comment on the times that the UK cant support even one dedicated gay channel despite gay men being more open about their interests and less worried about censure.

Any thought on politicans, other public figures, magazines, newspapers or high profile social media sites that would be willing to push an anti censorship message in the run up to the election?

Unlike 5 years ago there really isn't any hope on the ofcom front. Things will not change. All the major parties support Ofcom and all major parties are united in their opposition to anything of an adult nature.

The only Government out there that would realistically look to scrap Ofcom and this bullshit censorship regime would be UKIP and as much as I hate them I am beginning to understand why among other issues that are crippling the UK (which I'd better not mention as this isn't really the time or place to be airing these views) why they might be inclined to give them the vote.

Interesting to note that other forms such as gambling on devious money making schemes which are clearly targeted at children such as Candycrush aren't being discussed in the same manner that our children are able to access porn is. If the UK Government want to get on their moral high horse then lets not make any exceptions.

In saying that wasn't one of their own politicians recently caught playing the game going by the name of Nigel Mills during a Commons committee hearing.

Candycrush has been proven to be very addictive as it promps you to shell out money if you run of moves etc to clear a level.

Porn sites must have age checks, say Conservatives

Pornography websites must adopt age-restriction controls or face closure, the Conservatives say.
Culture Secretary Sajid Javid said the party would ensure under-18s were prevented from seeing adult content.
In a recent Childline poll, a tenth of 12 to 13-year-olds were worried they were addicted to pornography.
The plan is targeted at both UK-based and overseas websites and would be introduced if the Tories are in power after the general election.
Experts have welcomed the idea but warned it would be difficult to implement.

The proposed system would be overseen by an independent regulator with the power to force internet service providers to block sites which failed to include effective age verification.

Sarah Green, acting director of the End Violence Against Women Coalition, said: "Surveys have shown that more than half of young people have seen online pornography by the age of 14, and that many see it without even seeking it out as links are shared on social networks."
NSPCC chief Peter Wanless said the easy availability to children of online pornography was of "deepening concern".
He added: "It can leave them feeling frightened, confused, depressed or upset. The number of ChildLine counselling sessions regarding porn more than doubled last year to over 1,100 with some young girls revealing they were being pressured to mimic scenes from adult films.
"Any action that makes it more difficult for young people to find this material is to be welcomed.
"The key will be making any system work effectively as we know foreign outlets are recklessly flooding the market with films that can be viewed by anyone without any age checks in place."

Nothing really new in any of this, it's just a continuation of the line they have been pushing for a while.
The only slightly new thing about it is the move to apply this to non-UK sites and to use isp-level blocking for non-compliant sites. That ramps it up a notch from where we currently stand, but whether that will actually happen, or whether it is just pre-election soundbites remains to be seen.

Most US sites already have a simple 'Are you 18+' step before entering (I believe it's mandatory), but ATVOD requirements go much further. It's hard to imagine all those sites would be prepared to install ATVOD-level verifications just to reach the UK market. It's equally hard to imagine how any regulator could possibly hope to monitor and check all these sites to ensure they satisfy their requirements.

At last we have a politician come out and say he uses porn. Shame he was cornered into it but at least it's a little to counter to the now almost ceaseless tide of anti-porn stories.

Really can't see where this backlash against net will end. If some have their way we will end up with our net access censored not far behind that of China's.

I suppose it was inevitable that the politicians (particularly the Tories) would come up with some proposed anti-porn measures to try and win votes from the Mary Whitehouse brigade in the run-up to an election. Nobody's going to be in favour of under-age kids watching porn of course so they'll feel they're on solid ground, but as we all know these things are always the thin end of the wedge, and no doubt they will want to go further.
Fortunately the idea of electronic age checks seems totally unrealistic and no doubt this will all disappear once the votes are counted and the feelings of satisfied self-righteousness have subsided.
I do admire the honesty of the MP who admitted to using porn - sadly for him in these hypocritical times he's probably signed his own political death warrant.

Which MP would you trust more, given recent allegations? One denies any interest in erotic content, or a "blokey" one like Boris Johnson or Shagger Norris?
