So if POV's are indeed banned, I can't really say I'll miss them much as under current Ofcom regulations they are normally piss poor, as are 2 and 3 for 1's, they just bore the hell out of me, I mean no touching of any kind, Elite used to be the master of 2 for 1's especially when it was Caty Cole and Charlie O'Neil on, what a show we used to get, is there anything that Ofcom haven't destroyed yet, also they are missing a very big point here that these shows are supposed to be fun aswell as erotic and they are neither at the moment, I fear for the future of the babe channels unless the rules are relaxed dramatically

ofcom have them by the scruff of their necks but instead of having a go back like a terrier they are cowering like lap dogs,the inevitable is clear enough to see ,its only the channel owners now who can do anything as it looks a forgone conclusion that the petition is years of making any political stand , this time next year i doubt this discussion will be worth posting on ;(

It seems to me that rather than tackling Ofcom head on, the babe channels are dithering and waiting for the miracle that will never happen, they can wish Ofcom away until their hearts content but the reality is Ofcom are still here and show no sign of leaving in a hurry either, they have the support of the Torie and Labour party so their future is just about certain, but yes I agree with Shankey like he said the babe channels are all too much like an obedient dog following it's masters instructions, but the problem is if it bites then it gets put to sleep, and that's where the double edged sword issue remains a sticky point, but if they were to approach Ofcom in the correct manner they might make some headway, with the proper legal team for the channels in place they could maybe try this issue which I've previously stated under the European Human Rights Freedom act as it's not like the 900's haven't put safety measures in place, they have, all channels are and have been safety protected for years now and I think that's the real crux of the argument here, all safety measures are in place so legally they should be allowed to procede without hinderance or hassle from Ofcom, we don't live in a technological age for nothing and this nonsense has to stop

I watched a brilliant documentary last night, recorded from The Horror Channel. It was called Video Nasties: Moral Panic, Censorship and Videotape and if anyone here complaining about Ofcom hasn't seen it, I urge you to do so. What I'm getting round to saying here is that during the notorious 'nasties' scare we saw exactly the same thing going on as we are now with Ofcom; corruption, lies, fraud... all in the name of Big Brother gaining control. If you think the people at Ofcom are corrupt, wait until you see the interviews with a certain Graham Bright - the conservative MP at the time who fought to bring about the Video Recordings Act. Present day, and these very same MPs care not a jot that all the films on the nasties list are now widely available, uncut, to anyone who wants them, only proving that they had no real concern about the content of these films in the first place. Bastards like Graham Bright sat on their big fat arses and happily watched as innocent men went to prison over the nasties scare

Not actually banned because Ofcom never do anything as controversial as banning something, that would be censorship. But they have let it be know that interesting content will attract unwelcome attention from Ofcom.

Thought someone else might have noticed, seems not so heres some detail. Believe it or not as you wish, I cant reveal the source. Heres what I have read:

Channel: "Belts will no longer be coming off. OFCOM said 'no: stop it' "
Fan: "Looks like the POV has been banned by ofcom. Roving camera is the new term and it is no way near the same" (not contradicted)
Channel: "Afraid not, Ofcom made it very clear they're not a fan of Belts coming off"
Fan: "Im sorry to say that pov has turned into at arms length and further" (not contradicted)
Fan: "Thought we were going to have a pov with all the girls?" Channel: "No such thing anymore"

And yet the channels are still expecting callers, why when they have so many bullshit Ofcom rules in place, it's hardly erotic is it asking a model to do something sexy only to be told sorry I'm not allowed to do that, fuck this £1.53 a minute bullshit then, what a rip off to pay that amount of money only to be left unsatisfied, Ofcom and the Babe Channel producer's have got a lot to answer for as there is blame on both sides as far as I'm concerned for the Babe Channels to not even try to make a stand.

Martin Barker has become my hero overnight. A man who talks more common sense than I've ever heard anyone speak before. Such was his impact on me that I sent him an email earlier, not just to thank him for his part in that documentary, but to let him know what Ofcom are doing with the babe channels. He warns (as Mark Kermode points out in that clip) that we need to remember what happened during the nasties scare, so that we can be ready for it happening again. Well, he now knows that that time has come. It may not have hit the headlines like the nasties scare did, but it's happening, and it's being done with exactly the same level of corruption, survey-fixing and fraud.
