RCTV why couldn't you have offered advice to the channels yourself. Why did you have to wait for Ofcom to make the first move. I know what I would have done if I had been in the same position as you were in. Also I would have been quite vocal in my defense of the channels and at all those on the Ofcom committee.

Right - I'm away to get some cap's now. I'll finish this discussion off later Wink

I couldn't myself (not part of ofcom) due to I found my information out due to complaints, and before it reaches the board ofcom will do phonecalls, letters etc and says we can provide staff (co-opted/production advisors) to help you. I could as part of ofcom. I was vocal, but I couldn't vote, and it was their choice if they choose to listen to me or ignore me.

If anyone else has any questions PM me.

You base that on the way he looks, do you? Can you be physiognomically specific about which bits of his face lead you to this conclusion? Or is it something else? The way he's knotted his tie, maybe?

RCTV seems to have joined this forum originally to promote a possible new babe channel that he/she was connected with and wanted people on here and the babe channel girls to say what they like or don't like, Ofcom seems to have stopped his/hers company from broadcasting in the UK see below

Would any girls be interested in working and living in spain? if so how long? It would be similar stuff to the uk channels.

Anyway to keep this thread Ofcom related a question for RCTV, what was the reason why Ofccom prevented you're company from broadcasting in the UK ? .
They didn't want a channel being purely broadcast from another country even though it was going to be an EU country, they wouldn't of minded if we had got a slot on a British channel, that some of it was broadcast in the uk. They were was other stuff, but that was the main one. They also weren't keen that I had I just had a local Spanish licence rather than a national Spanish licence.
So RCTV we're talking about a Spanish Babe Channel then. So just out of curiosity why didn't you try and obtain a licence similar to what Babestation have got instead.

What baffles me then is you were an advisor on the Ofcom Committee but you weren't allowed to vote or even advise on any of the issues of the day within the adult industry.

You gained previous experience working at Cellcast and Bangbabes media and then you you wanted to start your own Babe Channel. The plot thicken's. You couldn't script this if you tried Rolleyes

I'll tell you something this thread has literally been turned into one of the hottest threads going in the past few days. Must see posts Wink

I never realized that eek

What were the guidelines you questioned and managed to make a slight change ? .

Most already understand that. Art/serious drama can and will make reference to the human body and the fact that we're sexual creatures, but such content is never an end in itself. In other words, while you might see some nude or near-nude dancers prancing around on Sky Arts 1, you won't see them palpating their genitals and saying, "I'm so horny! Give it to me!" (for viewers money!). Also, huge difference: in contrast to adult satellite sex shows, art broadcasts are short in length and the vast majority are pre-recorded. Their content can be vetted for suitability pre-broadcast. The issue isn't nudity/sex; the issue is context and boundaries, as has been pointed out loads of times.

Well i'm not most people obviously , i never knew that main stream nudity can only be done on TV if it's art as RCTV say's and they have to seek permission to broadcast main stream nudity on tv . You learn something every day .

Don't know about the granting of permission, but I'm basing the first bit on a logical reading of things, as they appear to stand. Put very basically: art can't be porn; the nudity or sex content will always be subsumed within a bigger framework (although, paradoxically, it's arguable that some Satellite shows are breaking down the boundaries the other way. It's the softer shows, though, that are doing this, not yer Babestar-type shows).
