Xfactor is rather tame sexually, recorded content is carefull edited to suggest more that it shows. And somehow Christine Aguliara in stockings and a basque seems ruder that a gymnast in a bikini, but its all illusion.unremarkable.

Sadly Ofcom decide to give in to mob pressure and put out a ruling saying it was only just acceptable, ignoring their own research. Then having said it was acceptable shortly after they move the goal posts a bit more and say that means it probably ought not be broadcast.

Frankly I am not worried by odd flash of a body stocking. Kids cannot live in a bubble until the magc day when they are are allowed up after 9. Family entertainment used to be far raunchier - occasionally - and prepared them for life. In most countries a topless dance routine is unremarkable. Some countries even used to include full blown strips on daytime womens shows, the equivalent of Loose Women, but thats another story.

What does bother me is parading people who are hopelessly deluded for ritual humiliation in front of millions of prime time viewers. Their friends, neighbours and local bullies wont forget in a hurry. There was a 51 year old woman who thought she was going to be the next Madonna who ended up humiliating her daughers. These things matter more than the odd consenting flash.
Another pathetic night of output across the channels. Unless the producers start upping the ante they are in danger of losing their entire customer base. We want some action, not a half comatose model wearing 5 pairs of knickers and a bra that would keep a Mother Superior happy.
I think regarding ofcom I've kinda exhausted all avenues, there is simply only so many ofcom rants you can do before you run out of things to say Wink In terms of the shows last night and the night before, they weren't at their strongest but believe me I've seen far far worse.

We've all done our bit, the petition was a great idea last year, but it's now common knowledge now that the channels have no interest in taking ofcom on. They seem more than happy to abide by the current rules.

What is unsettling is not only are they happily sticking to the rules but they are also not willing to push them to the absolute limits like they did a few years ago. A lot of this arguably is tactics. I've seen all of this happen before, they go tame for a while, get a bit naughter, then get tamer again.

None of us know whatsoever what the next night will bring, we also have no knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes. One thing that is guaranteed is that new rules come out all the time, whether they are in favour of this type of entertainment is really just a throw of the dice.

Also we've also stated on numorous occasions and myself included that maybe all the channel execs could have mediation sessions with ofcom but the biggest fear of that one could be the rules could get even more strict and go against them.

If the watershed and technology to block the channels isn't enough to satisfy ofcom then I honesty don't know what is Cool
What we have , in the UK, is an organisation acutely determined to limit sexual entertainment on TV to such a limit that it becomes unviable.

Ofcon are the 21st century equivalent of the Witchfinder General and his henchmen.

..........and what is it all achieving?
Well what can i say which has not already been said! quite frankly not much. I completely agree with SB it seems that the Babe channels have put there cards on the table, and they have decided to go along with the current strict rules that they are clearly working under!! and they seem happy to do so, which in my opinion is the wrong thing to do!
I agree with other forum members that if the general public stopped calling in then it would probably get the producers of these shows to start panicking and start to do something about it, however it appears the majority of the general public are happy with the current level of Adult entertainment! So why should the producers rock the boat!
So the question we ask ourselves is what else can we do? well all we can do is wait, in otherwords sit tight and hope either Ofcom somehow crumble or have there powers taken away, or another regulatory body takes Ofcom over, i guess there's very little anyone of us can doSad

well so far tonight i dont think there will be any complaints to ofcom all the channels are as bad as each other im now off to bed good night
If I were Ofcom I'd be handing out fines to the babe channels for being too tame. That means they'd be getting fined every night Big Laugh
