I think this latest ruling is another example of over zealous regulation by an out of touch regulator,i mean its not as if the celebrities set out to expose themselves on national mainstream tv,i cant understand why Ofcom cant grasp the concept that sometimes wardrobe malfunctions will happen, where will all this end, will soaps no longer be allowed to film characters on holiday, will dresses be banned on Strictly in favour of trousers, some of the Australian soaps will have to go if bikinis are now banned,

No bikinis on women so no Speedos on the men aswell? Bet you not.

I will stick in a complaint if this happens..Double standards if men still in speedos ,,mind you Ofcom love penis shots.

Smile not unless the soaps go out live surely ? I think "wardrobe malfunctions" would the least of their worries if that was the case : they'd have enough "gaffes" material for a non-stop 24 hours a day rolling "Alright on the Night" style series. laugh

(That might almost make them worth watching !)

I'm going to presume you're not trolling and therefore ask you to explain what terrible things might happen to the world if a woman was to accidentally flash a boob in this programme.

A standpoint such as this, from a regular viewer of adult babeshows, seems very odd to me.

yes I can see why what I said earlier is odd but im not trolling. as for what terrible things would happen if a boob was flashed accidentally. nothing terrible at all. would just be loads of complaints to Ofcom and hysteria in the press and on the net, leading to an investigation and itv would get a sanction/punishment of some sort.

so perhaps to be on the safe side to avoid all the above therefore Ofcom made the decision not to have bikinis worn on splash to minimise the chances of a wardrobe malfunction
Channel 4 with its what happened in Kavos or this Sunny Beach and the rest still showing penises but blurring female genitals...We still cannot get valid answer whether this highly sexist, highly offensive, double standards act is Ofcom or channel 4..Channel 5 emailed saying we can show male genitals but not female in same documentary cause it would break Ofcom rules...Ofcom wrote to me sent recorded delivery that the showing of male or female genitals would not usually warrant investigation by us,.

Really need to get this sorted I saw my arse since 1996 about and its getting worse..At least more folk are tweeting about this blurring and its mainly women complaining that the disgusting nobs should be blurred out not fannys..

Oh next week the are showing naked rambler bbc1 I bet they don't blur out his genitals..So love to really assault the idiots at channels or Ofcom or the documentary makers themselves,,WHO IS AT FAULT? A MAN IS BORN WITH THE MOST GENITALS ON SHOW WHEREAS WOMENS ARE MAINLY INTERNAL YET THEY BLUR OUT FEMALES FOR NO VALID REASON..THEY SHOW ALL THE PENIS EVEN ERECTIONS AND FORESKIN RETRACTED AND TESTICLES YET CENSOR FEMALES WITH ABSOLUTE NO REASON.annoyedannoyedannoyed

Just to clarify, as far as I know, Ofcom have no direct involvement in this decision, it was the programme producers.

Personally, I very much doubt even a brief flash of nipple would warrant any sanctions from Ofcom, perhaps a verbal warning at most, but given what the main channels get away with normally, I think they would be safe. More likely the decision was taken for commercial reasons to avoid any unwanted negative publicity for what is suppossed to be a wholesome family entertainment show.
I can hear a classic Roy Orbison tune coming on....."Just running scared.....".

It would come as a terrible shock to the millions watching who had no idea that woman have breasts and in all probability bring an end to Western civilisation as we know it.
