Good that we've got a Forum Etiquette thread now, but this is just a general etiquette point.
We Brits are generally good at understanding the basic rules of human order like how to stand in a queue and where to stand / walk on an escalator. So why is this one so difficult to grasp...
THE GUY (OR GIRL) WHO
CLEARLY JUST GOT OFF THE TUBE (OR TRAIN) IN ORDER TO LET THE PEOPLE BEHIND HIM GET OUT, SHOULD HAVE PRIORITY ON GETTING BACK IN!!!
It drives me crazy -- especially at rush hour in London -- when you try to be polite and get off the train to make life easier for the people behind you, and a mob of people waiting on the platform then pile into the carriage instead of letting you back on.
When I am Emperor, the order of people getting on to a train will be:
1. The disabled
2. People with prams
3. Pregnant women
4. The guy who politely just got off to let others pass
5. Children
6. Women who might be pregnant but could just be a little overweight (so, y'know, tough judgment call!)
7. Women
8. Men
9. Drunk teenagers
10. Drunk businessmen with stupid grins trying to act like they aren't drunk
11.Babeshow producers
12.Phil Barry
