You should have been told of any side effects they had. Talk to your doctor about them and get them changed if i were you. And more importantly get out there and snare a woman goat!! Big Grin Big Grin Smile
Yeah Goatman needs a girlfriend , the petition to get Kelly to change her name to Goatwoman and become Goatman's girlfriend starts now.
I think we need an "I'm absolutely fucking seething" thread for this one but as it doesn't exist i'll put this here.

After several weeks of us trying to persuade my Mother to see a Doctor about a persistant leg problem, it all became too much for her on Friday night and she asked us to call an Ambulance. As it obviously wasn't immediately life threatening i went through the utter nightmare of calling 111. 30 minutes later they sent....An Ambulance. Now i'll say this first, the Paramedics were absolutely outstanding. They spent well over an hour checking her over, giving her pain relief and generally convincing her that we couldn't do any more for her at home and hospital was where she really needs to be, so at 9pm she was on her way in the Ambulance and we had to sit & wait at home due to fucking Covid.

So i went to bed expecting a call in the middle of the night or early next morning however nothing happened. In fact nothing happened all day until i called the Hospital at 7pm on Saturday night and the main Receptionist tracked down which ward she was on and put me though. I got a few details off the Nurse (She was waiting for a CT Scan which would be done today) and the Nurse took my Mobile number. I assumed, somewhat naively that i'd get a call today with an update. You guessed it folks, by 4pm we had heard nothing.

Once again we jumped on the telephonic Merry-Go-Round with myself, both of my Sisters and one of my Nephews calling the ward Number we'd been given. Eventually my Nephew got through to the Nurse's Station and i got some details of how she was. Fortunately the scan shows no fractures or breaks she doesn't need Surgery.

After explaining to the Nurse all the hoops we'd had to jump through and that NOBODY had actually contacted us about her since she was admitted, i was told to call main reception and ask to be put through to the Ward Deck Phone and it would be taken to my Mum so we could talk to her....

You probably know what's coming next......

The phone is constantly in use. We either get bounced back to the switchboard or occasionally to the Nurses Station who just tell us to keep trying. This is 3 of us trying for a good 3 hours. It's totally unacceptable.

Tomorrow morning i'll be contacting the "Patient Experience Team" and firing a fucking Rocket up them. This is not the fault of the Ward Staff, the systems in place for contacting Patients are utterly shambolic.

Our local hospital was quietly run down in the last days of Blair's Government and services moved to a Hospital 12 miles away with a promise of a new, combined "super hospital" in between both areas. It never happened. Rolleyes
^ Regrettably TD, none of that surprises me one iota. Trying to get through endless hospital hoops is a bit like trying to get insurance companies to pay out.
Endless obstacles put in the way to prevent it.

The NHS is full of overworked, over stressed and dedicated staff who are contending with lack of resource, out of date medical technology, insufficient beds and endless bureaucracy to frustrate the practice of patient care.
It's a complete shambles and has been getting worse for ages.

The patients and their relatives are the ones that suffer the most.
And don't get me started on hospital car parking charges annoyed
^Believe me Snooks I know what the staff are up against. I worked at another Local Hospital for just under 10 years until it was "refurbished" under one of Blair"s PFI schemes and we lost our contract. I have almost limitless respect for the boots on the ground but very little for the upper Management.

It's utterly bizarre that another trust with hospitals 30 miles away are allowing pre-booked visits but this lot with one of the lowest infection rates currently still have a blanket ban.

The last part of your post pretty much reminds me of thr situation where I live. At that particular time we had an MP who didn't live in the area, but lived in Cambridge and we was promised a 'super hospital' on the proviso we kept her as our MP and having kicked her out as being our MP the hospital never happened. The local hospital is a general hospital with A & E for the area at another hosptal 12 mile away and can tell you if I got a heart attack at any certain points of the day and with the local motorway the fastest way to get from A to B I reckon the chances of survival are nil.
And so it fucking continues...

I tried again at 0930, had a bit of a chat with the Switchboard Operator who to be fair has been great. She sounds pretty pissed off with them too as she's getting constant earache from people who just can't get through to the Ward. Anyway she put me through and the phone just rings continuously. So, i then tried contacting the "Patient Experience Team", Firstly to make a complaint and secondly to arrange a "Virtual Visit". I made a snotty post on the Hospital Facebook page last night and got a message from an Off Duty Nurse about it, however, their phone just goes to an Answering Machine.

In the meantime, my Sister has just got through to the Bed Manager who has had the full Hair Dryer treatment and despatched a Senior Nurse to the Ward to see what the fuck is actually going on.
