Some garages seriously take the fuckin piss.
Although most people expect brand named establishments to be trustworthy...that is utter shite. They rely on that to entice customers to use them.
Luckily I use a garage that works with a local taxi firm. In my experience taxis have two MOT tests per year due to their usage .
Do a bit of research and don't get robbed by these wank companies.
My lad was quoted around 400 quid by BMW to get his brakes done. The same geezer I use did it for 260 quid.
I trust no fucker when I part with money...only a choice few get my trust.

Front spring collapsed on my car, by time AA got to me it was late in the day, only place open who'd take the car for what was promised as a quick fix was Halfords. That was on a Weds evening. Didn't call Thursday as car wasn't going to be fixed until Friday morning. Called Friday lunchtime to see when I could collect the car only to be told they had no recollection of my car or it having been booked in for repair.

An hour later, after two more calls back to speak with manager; who'd had day off on the day the car got to them; I was told it would need both front springs done; hiking the estimate from £180 to £345! With the car there & work tomorrow I was kinda stuck or face even more charges getting car towed to another garage, so told them fine, I'd pay it to get car back on the road. Turned out they didn't get it fixed that day, and it was late on even that I got it back on Saturday. Not a happy bunny!!

As I say, I visited another local garage at the suggestion of a friend few days later to find they'd have done the job the next day to my breakdown for half the price...! Gutting. Have used this other garage twice since & have been happy with both their prices, jobs done, and parts used (as in none of them have failed or felt dodgy).

Spent an hour last night watering the garden, and it's pissed down ever since

Remember the last time we had a hose pipe ban we had 3 months of rain after it

Rained in Brum this evening; saved me money on washing the car at least.... Much cooler too, which is a nice relief.
