I wasn't exactly stung on eBay a few Decembers ago, but it was certainly enough to make me give it and Amazon a wide berth ever since, during what is clearly a tremendously busy time for them.

But I sympathise (even if it doesn't sound like it)
I ordered something from Amazon a few weeks ago.
When ordering it stated that there was a 3-5 day delivery time.
After ordering and paying it said to expect it between the 15th Dec & 10 Jan bladewave
I was not happy that the delay wasn't mentioned before I paid for it.

A week later I was then informed that the arrival date would the 10th Jan, on the same day it arrived.Smile

I'm expecting a second delivery on the 10th Jan Tongue
One of the orders I was quoted 22nd-26th December which would have been too late-as it is the earlier date is looking the most obvious but I really don't want it after Christmas. I ordered these books back on 10th December so you would think two weeks is more than sufficient to send them out. Sorry to hear you've had problems-I only ever use Amazon for those hard to find books etc and only at Christmas.
I tried to order a Xmas present on Amazon the other day. The delivery date was 20th - 21st Cool
Then I noticed the delivery address had defaulted to my niece in Yorkshire, where the last thing I ordered went. Changed it back to my own address and the delivery date magically changed to the 28th - 29th.

Fuck off! annoyed Order cancelled.
Funnily enough i ordered something from amazon last Saturday, delivery date was Monday 17th then i received an email on Monday saying it would be 17th-19th, still did not arrive. Got another message telling me it was lost but to wait a couple of days just in case it turned up. I wanted it before xmas so ended up cancelling and ordering it from somewhere else.

Whats the point of paying for prime if its unreliable?
Places like Amazon are victims of their own success; more so this time of the year. They only have the room & certain staffing levels to cope, and once that's exhausted the rest just gets done when they get around to it.

Royal Mail not so clever either, as the other week I paid £2.50 for a supposed 1st class delivery, but it turned up 4 days later, on a Saturday, while i was out; meaning I had to wait until the Monday, then travel 4 miles to nearest sorting office to pick it up in person; a total of 6 days! I hate to imagine how long 2nd class takes?
One of my items came from an Amazon warehouse in Poland bladewave
But it was in an English distribution point the next day Smile
