How about this:

They can't all look as good as Grace's picture because:

1. The variety of internet strength at each babe's house. You'll get a poorer signal in a populace area or where you're further from the exchange with copper wire.
2. CB babes set up is permanent, they could choose to broadcast where there's a good signal, even by country.
3. S66 handle each babe's programme, sometimes 20 or more at once whereas presumably CB don't.
4. S66 manage each programme (especially because of Ofcom).
5. S66 have agreed on 480p because it's the least worst option.
6. Changing the facilities would mean turning off some of the babes with poor internet and/or too much expenditure for a temporary problem. Babestation managed this one by keeping the studio open.

Interesting about Arura. I'm watching the Mercedes Rose case. Dreadful picture, she said a new computer was due but wasn't on today. When it comes will her picture be much better? By my reckoning it won't.

There are a lot of factors involved; the precise details of what happens to the streams once they leave a babe's home is unknown to us (and almost certainly is to most babes too). It can only be hazarded, but to take your points as best I can...

1. If the babes are with BT this is very true but in a lot of cases (why I used the word "theoretically" originally) this might be mitigated by a change of isp or a change of service with their isp.

2. You don't think the 66 babes ought to be looking at this stuff as becoming a permanent part of their futures on the shows? Do you really want them to shrug off what has gone on recently? (The chances of Evelyn coming back to 66 towers is less than zilch. And she would seem to be the vanguard on this stuff to me.)

2a. I doubt any internet camming babe moves home just to get a better broadband. CB's set up is just more purpose built and sturdy against the other vagaries we are talking of I would suggest.

3. How are you suggesting CB have a unique and uncopyable advantage over 66? Money? Size? Server use? Isn't a CB type bts logistics (whatever that is) more where 66 seem to be heading as they lessen their emphasis on TV channels? (Although I still don't see 66 giving up on TV completely.)

4. We are speaking entirely of stuff out of Ofcom's purview here. But I agree they are probably having difficulties transitioning to a hybrid service (even though they've been moving in this direction for years now).

5. Agreed. It's most likely a shitty compromise they had to make in the temporary circumstances they had to hand... So, what exactly is needed to move them out of that position to a place where they can do more than 480p?

6. Agreed. But similiar to 5, the next question is how quick can they improve things and, in particular, maintain the bits their customers have come to want and expect in the current services?

I've noticed lots of people complaining about the stream quality in the chat box, some of the girls respond "Perve cam is HD"
So, streaming in 480p could be a strategy to drive the punter to perve/private/group shows to increase revenue...

Sorry if this question has been asked and answered before . Haven't been on this site much recently , and i'm based in Ireland . I thought the UK was in lockdown? How are the girls allowed to continue broadcasting from the studios ?

In the UK you are allowed to do to work if you can't work from home so if a girl can't cam from home she can go to the studio, the government didn't close any media down so TV shows can be made as normal as long as there is social distance between people,

Every girl can cam from home though. In fact many of the girls in the studio have done it. And even last night I saw a lack of social distancing on BS. But the government advice was so loose, it's basically the discretion of companies not named in the ban to live up the spirit of the advice or not.

Irrelevant. A different ISP won't make the babes locale less populace or shorten the length of two copper wires between her house and the exchange.

Yes but I expect to see one shared chat page, a 45 second mic delay, loud music impeding announcements and an unstaffed middle shift just as before. Only those at home would enjoy the enhanced engagement we see now...with 480p.

They're free to make decisions whereas Grace or Evelyn suffer 480p because (say) Lucy's internet is crap and so S66 have standardised for less buffering.

They aren't a TV station with control of output, (Unless I misunderstand they're service which I've never seen, I assume they're like Stripchat which I have)

1. Copper I believe is restricted to the telephone exchange utilising method of delivery. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the likes of Virgin all fibre optical and therefore going to give different speeds, etc.

2. You surprise me by being more cynical here than me! Yes the studio stuff will not doubt still have many of the faults that have crept in over recent years but I'd hope that even 66 can see the benefits of two chatboxes. Off-call audio is I admit harder to see happening but the home shows wont stay 480p forever and then the studio stuff will look deficient in comparison if they don't innovate with them. 66 are way behind BS in instigating new format studio shows already. Do they really want to just stick to the same old same old after this?

3. The control the producers have over the babe's web shows is very minimal IMO (at least the standard ones where they are not trying out something 'new' - I'm thinking of the Ashlyn-Kendall 2-4-1s a while back for instance). Just because they do TV doesn't mean they over produce everything they put out.

5. Time and money agreed. Although I don't know how you figure millions for JM. Profitable on a shoestring does not equal millions. Losing TV channels, and babes moaning of no callers, does not equal millions. Not for the boss of a company of this size in my book. But I could be way wrong. Even this is probably too much surmise for a public forum.

It is a fascinating time it must be said - even if much is not as we'd wish it. More feels like it's up for change than ever I can remember in over 12 years of watching the shows.

I don't mean control as in telling a babe what she can do, I mean control as in switching.
Presumably the path is:
Babe's house---gallery---internet/TV transmitter---viewer,
whereas CB's path is
Babe's house---internet---viewer
The equipment in the gallery standardises the 480p
