^ That's it, right there. There is no motivation for the 'babes' any more. They know they can do the bare minimum and make plenty of wonga. I'd argue that's part of the reason why the quality of the 'babes' is also way down on years gone by- the previous models had a certain professionalism- being used to working for their money. The majority now are lazy and apathetic. Watching night shows now is close to torture- few lookers, and even less effort. Neither the girls nor the channels give a fuck.

I agree with what big ben said. A bit like what he said Pre 2010 you couldn't watch Porn on tube sites in good quality you could if you were lucky find full length videos but nothing like they are now I think the problem and we all know we've seen things on the internet that the Babe Shows can't match , The cost of ringing them up matches what you can pay for most of the girls who are on cam sites to interact and do whatever in most cases

I don't really buy the lack of motivation argument.

On the contrary i think some of these girls are highly motivated, particularly the savvy ones who have adapted to the new reality which is that these shows, having been neutered by Ofcom, now attract a very different type of audience. The old audience is GONE, less so for night shows which have the same audience now only smaller, but certainly with regard to day shows. Gone and not coming back unless the rules were to change.

Today's day show callers seem perfectly satisfied, as Kerr points out, with the girls' feigning interest in their lives. These are the target audience now, therefore moving about, posing provocatively, and generally 'putting on a show' simply doesn't apply. It would be a complete waste of resources - even if it were allowed.

There are a handful of good babes & even producers that do try to put on a show if allowed & give at least some value for money. Nowhere near enough unfortunately.

I think it's true some models don't care and many of the producers don't care. Although anyone in the industry with any vision should care; their product is decaying to the stage where the market segment they appeal to will be too small to sustain the business.

Right now the only market the babeshows appeal too are either; people who are not IT competent to surf the net or humiliation fetishists. The babeshows used to appeal to a mass market, now they appeal to a niche which will shrink year on year. Models probably still make an adequate wage from doing very little, but the amount of phone waving we see on the channels nowadays tells us there are longer periods without callers. Furthermore if you look at the amount of channels that have folded since the 'hay day' of babe shows, clearly the mass market is no longer there. Babestation is almost the last channel standing and is more than likely being prompt up by it's hardcore website content.

You've also got to consider the supply of product (the models), years gone by, aspiring models would kill to get onto a babeshow. They could pick and choose from an array of any one who thought they could be a model. Right now, aspiring models can make just as much from their own home on a cam site, working to a schedule that suits them with no producer or boss directing their actions. It's going to become increasingly difficult to attract the best new models to work on the babeshows, in the coming years, unless they (babeshows) are able to offer lucrative shifts and with the decline in the mass audience, I'm not so sure they can hand out those 'big time' guarantees.

A case in point, if you look at a model like Yuffie Yulan, she was earning a lot of money from being a cam model on MFC (I don't think she even broke the top 20 who are making about £150K+ per month) before she appeared on babestation, I don't recall her been on tv much and then signed up for killergram in the porn industry. I can't say for sure but it seems the babeshows couldn't offer her much. I've also spoken to ex babeshow model Courtney Luv who is now making more money camming from her home in Australia via adultwork than she made doing shifts on tv.

Another factor to consider, is the proliferation of social media; back in the day for an aspiring model there wasn't too many ways to promote yourself and the babeshows were an opportune get in. Present day, models can self promote via social media, set up their own website for little cost and also cam from home, sell content etc.

Ultimately I don't see a way for the downward trend to cease, unless regulation is relaxed and then with their tv exposure the channels could compete on a more level playing field. Yes it is true some models are actually happy with the current format because it means they only have to go topless and nothing more, but the bottom line is; the world has changed and just tits are not enough any more for the majority. There's a whole new generation in the 18+ demographic who are very IT literate, who know how to find free hardcore content and demand more entertainment for their money - right now the babeshows simply do not represent any sort of value.

Right well I've just got back home from my nightshift, I recorded 2 channels BS Blue and BS Xtra and played it back at high speed, the recordings have now been deleted.

Although I can never claim to have ever been a massive caller of the shows I did used to call them a few times a month in the past, I remember my heart was pounding when I eventually got through to Lucy Summers when she was on RLC all naked and covered in oil and was able to put 2 legs behind her head whilst doing the handthong. It was a great period circa 2011 knowing that I could get her into any position of my choosing and it was money well spent as well as the high of knowing that I was in the directors seat as to say.

Now I wouldn't even entertain phoning her or any of the other babes, not because I have any doubt in their ability's but because I know that there just wouldn't be a cats chance in hell of seeing any of my former requests being obliged. I'm not remotely interested in just phoning up for her to talk dirty to me because unless she or any of the others are able to accommodate me visually then I'll save my money because for the price they are charging I want to be satisfied hence the reason they are forever phone waving.

Right now I have my doubts if the lot of them will even see the year out before they go out of business for good and when they do I'll reflect on the good times but I won't miss the junk they are currently churning out one bit.

^As you know i have heavily critisised Babestation lately, and with good reason to which i'm sure we all agree on, I have also put my opinions forward about SinTV. They are really the only two channels i watch.

What is going on in the industry at the moment? that is the big question that is on my mind

why are production values dropping so badly?

There are so many questions, and just no answers. Is it Ofcom? Is it government legislation about showing sexual content on TV and online that is causing this? We will never know.

One thing is for sure, the good old days are gone for sure now. This is what we have left. I noticed an influx of babes leaving PlayboyTVChat/RLC to head off to Babestation and other channels, indeed, i just found out that Lucy Zara is now on S66. When did that happen? I've read that TeeJay may very well be on her way out of RLC as well. What is going on? I know that webcam shows are making girls a lot more money because they don't have costs like travel and accommodation etc, but mainstream babeshows was once the pinnacle of a models career, get contracted to appear on telly, that was it, you had reached the top. Has social media played a part in the downfall? I don't really think so, has poor PR with the fans from the babe channels resulted in this dip in quality? Who knows? Why is there so much shakey-shakey of the phones these days when at one time it was near impossible to get a call in to your favourite babe?

Other reasons for girls leaving, one could say it's the travel. If your living in Essex, it's a helluva jaunt to Bristol on the train (PlayboyTVChat/RLC), same with Miltom Keynes (Babestation). At home, there is no travel, there are no costs, just get on cam and make money.

I dunno, maybe i'm looking too much into this, but in one word, i can sum up what i think of the Babeshows at the moment, and I apologise in advance to anyone who may be offended, but that work is...

These are just my thoughts, some may be controversial, some may be looking for answers, but i just thought i'd make this post to speak my mind a bit on the situation. A couple of excellent and enlightening posts from 'BigBen' concerning the alternatives to television nightshows on offer and how the quality of what we see is being affected by various factors. I agree with so much of what was said.

From a purely personal point of view I find it sad and disheartening to find that my motivation to call television nightshows has been whittled away to the point of hardly calling at all. There is no imagination, no visual sexual stimulus, no excitement and no motivation to provide any of those things.
There seems to be a culture of can't and won't prevailing even on those occasions where I ring in and politely make requests.
The excuses seem as lame as they are inconsistently applied.
OFCOM conveniently used as the bog standard excuse.

I used to be a regular caller but gradually over the years my calls have dwindled. My faith in the channels and those that represent them has ebbed away. Anticipation and joy has turned to resentment and despair.
The visual product is much the poorer hence the motivation to watch for all that long has been eaten away.
The ability/willingness to oblige the caller is much the poorer hence the calls dry up.

Webcam just does not have the same excitement for me.
I cannot explain why, I don't really know why.
Website videos and pics are all well and good as long as the quality and variety is good.
But there is something magical about ringing in a TV nightshow and getting the babe to do various things in front of your eyes. The excitement builds as she works the sexual tension up on the phone. I have experienced so many amazingly stimulating and exciting calls down the years sometimes when I was not even expecting to.
The combination of the visual, the vocal and the mutual response to the vocal. It all adds up to not merely a call but an experience. Experiences that at their best have made me truly feel as though yes it was a lot of money to spend on a call but I enjoyed the whole thing so much it was worth every penny.
I long for those experiences again but accept now that this is unlikely certainly on anything like the sort of regular basis of nights gone by .
