Ana Ivanovic has announced her retirement from tennis

Best wishes to Ana Ivanovic for her retirement from tennis.
Always enjoyed watching her play and her French Open triumph still brings back memories .

I'd suspected Ana's retirement was on the cards for a while. She has never really got close to matching the same level of achievement in Grand Slams as she did when she captured that French Open in 2008.

In recent times her results in the slams have been disappointing but fair play to her for continuing to fight through persistent shoulder and knee injuries. A very talented player unfortunately blighted by injury is always a sad sight in the game. So many have been cursed with those issues.

I wish her well. Thank you Ana for the memories over the last decade or so.

Congrats also to Victoria Azarenka on the birth of a baby boy .
