A one sided women's final, very disappointing as a contest. Perhaps Keys was hampered by the quad injury she picked up before / during her semi-final against Vandeweghe.
Stephens was finding the lines though with nearly every return. That second set was an exercise in how to return and massacre a powerful serve. Keys is known for being the biggest hitter on the women's tour, apart from Serena. Well that makes Sloane Stephens' achievement even greater. The lowest ranked women's US Open finalist ever aswell. Outstanding performance. I mean totally crap from a personal point of view - Key's defeat cost me a fiver. But who cares about my winnings / losses right?
Great win for Jamie Murray and Martina Hingis too, backing up the Wimbledon mixed doubles title with the Flushing Meadows equivalent.
Hopefully the men's final tomorrow between Nadal and Anderson can still be competitive. I'm looking for at least four sets, and I reckon the crowd would want that aswell. Anderson to sneak the first on a tiebreak and Nadal to up the level thereafter seems a good betting tip.
