Celtic would have been shut down that night if Fergus hadn't shown up. No second chance in the 3rd division, the club would have went straight into liquidation.
Rangers think they are being hard done by... try being a Catholic team in a Proddy country.

OH no we're back to this old shite again
East Stirlingshire won 4-3 at Elgin City Big Grin
A lot of people have slated the SFA in recent times, myslelf included but here is a few positives for you. Back in the summer when the Olympics games were being played at Hampden, the Olympic committee requested that the Scotland Saltire flying over Hampden proudly was replaced by the British flag to which the SFA turned round and told them to get to fuck in no uncertain terms. It's our flag and we'll fly it with pride Smile

However they didn't half fuck around when it came to making a decision on whether to sack Craig Levien as National manager or not. Eventually they got it right after the Tartan army put pressure on them.

As a Scotsman I am delighted with the appointment of Gordon Strachan. At last we finally have a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve with pride. Strachan will demand 100% from his players and is also known as a no nonsense man.

Here's to a brighter future Big Grin
I too think Strachan is a top choice. They should keep him for a decade. At least he's got a sense of humour. He'll need it Big Grin
Should never have sacked bertie vogts
On the subject of my football team, I was very sad to learn yesterday that Dundee United manager Peter Houston has decided not to accept a new contract which would have seen him have to take a 40% paycut from his current £200,000 a year job. Although he personally said he didn't mind a reduction in wages, overall he felt that just too much cost cutting was going to make it an uphill struggle in coming seasons to keep United out of the bottom half.

Happy days, winning the Scottish Cup in 2010. Farewell and thanks for all your hard work, a record only bettered by Jim Mclean. You will be missed.
Can I just say well done to St Mirren today after winning through to the Scottish League Cup Final after defeating Celtic 3 -2. Sure Celtic weren't at the races today but great credit to St Mirren for taking advantage and as a neutral it was a great result today for Scottish football. St Mirren will now face Hearts in the Final.

Would I be right in thinking it would be tactless to ask who St Mirren beat in that FA Cup final in which year? Tongue (I do wonder at the year, anyway Wink )

Big up the Mirren! Big Grin
Today 2 big news storys have broken out. Firstly all SPL clubs agreed on a new setup that would see the current format replaced with two leagues of 12 and one of 18. Although further details on the issues of Promotion and Relegation have not yet been given.

On the front of my Dundee United team. Manager Peter Houston who recently announced that he would be leaving at the end of the season has decided to call time on his tenure now and has left the club by mutual consent. I would personally like to thank Peter for his time as overall he's had a successful stint in charge of the team qualifying for European football on each season aswell as winning the Scottish Cup back in 2010.

Thanks Peter for the good times. Early candidates to become next Dundee United boss include Steven Pressley, Derek McInnes, Jackie McNamara and even Billy Dodd's is in the frame having revealed earlier today that he has been invited to attend an interview.

Paul Hegarty and Stevie Campbell will take temporary charge of the team ahead of tommorow nights match away to Motherwell.
