Mentioned it elsewhere, but the doc on Scotland's 1978 World Cup adventure was another superb effort, particularly the "human interest" fans stories like the pair who landed in Trinidad and found themselves landed with endless coach & train trips just to get to Argentina, or the bloke who met his wife there. Also fun to see Lou Macari was about the starriest of the Scottish players (no Souness or Dalglish, perhaps predictably).

Anyway, I see that while Celtic, Rangers and Hibernian have all been drawn against unremarkable European opposition, Aberdeen have got Burnley.

Another BBC Alba repeat, looking at the Dundee United UEFA Cup run of 1986-7. Another chance to see old sweats like Paul Sturrock and Maurice Malpas (a few of the team seem to have fallen off the perch, which is quite sad given their ages). A joyful lookback, even if I couldn't remember who they played in the final. The St Mirren Cup final between the two legs of the final should have set them up beautifully; instead it made things become inevitable.

Another BBC Alba treat, this time about the famous team who went bust in 1967, despite winning the league, the cup, etc It boiled down to a feud with some craphead businessman Bill Hiddleston, who planned to turn their ground into a housing development and cash in. But the council turned it down. So his financial mismanagement came home to roost and the ground remains undeveloped to this day, with moss-covered terraces etc
