Get Alex Salmond, he seems to want to run everything else in Scotland...

I'm sorry but I'd have to class that as an ignorant point of view. In the last match that Scotland played they fielded 6 players from the Premier League and 1 from the Scottish Premier League. So on paper they have a half decent side and are not on a par with San Marino who only have 1 professional player who plays in the Italian third divison. The cold hard fact of the matter is that with the right management Scotland have the players to be doing better than they curently are.
hearts could the 3rd scottish club to bust and the 2nd spl club. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20241385
No suprise there regarding Hearts. They are yet another club that has tryed to live outwith their means. Other clubs have had to cut their cloth significantly. The days of Scottish teams spending big money on players is well and truly gone. The money has dryed up after going through something of a rich spell during the 1990's and the early part of the 2000's. My own team Dundee United realised this a few years ago and has had to go looking in the lower divisions for quality players. The harsh and cold facts is that Scottish football is skint. Apart from Celtic the rest of us are not getting a huge amount of money from either SKY or ESPN.
Congratulations are in order for Celtic beating Barcelona 2-1.
This must surely rank as one of the best club result in Scottish football, well at least to my knowledge.
Another top performance from the Celtic keeper Forster, definitely some great stories to tell his grandkids.
Well done Celtic.
With all the doom and gloom concerning Scottish football and the national team, it was a breathe of fresh air tonight to see Celtic giving such a magnificant display tonight, full credit must go to the keeper and the defenders who defended like their lifes depended on it. For everybody who thinks the SPL is a mickey mouse and joke of a league, think again. Also my Dundee United team won tonight away to Motherwell so overall a fantastic night for me Smile

do you know what's funny, the fact that celtic had 16% of the possession to barcelona's 84! Bounce

i wonder what the record is for a team winning a game with the lowest possession? it couldn't be much lower than 16%! Big Grin

Well in. It wasn't exactly a weak Barcelona team either, add that to these stats and it's even more impressive.
