The amount of money gained from TV is insignificant tbh. If clubs require TV money in order to maintain a team then they quite clearly don't have their priorities right. Fans should be the main source of income for any club.

Anyhow here is a youtube video with some "facts" about the situation at Rangers

here are the porposed plans for rangers newco entering div 1. it would mean dunfermline being reinstated in the spl or dunfermline staying in div 1 with dundee finishing 2nd being promoted. the merger of spl and sfl to a new organisation called the scottish professional football league will happen next season (2013-14). rangers newco membership to the sfa depends on rangers newco accepting the footballing debts and fines/penalties of the old club along with waiving their right to legal challenge. the proposed plans seem to be a positive step in creating a stronger scottish league system. more details here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18625293

raith, falkirk and morton are opposing rangers newco enterance into div 1 even my mum with no interest in football at all thinks rangers newco should start in div3 with dunfermline being reinstated into the spl. her reason is since the rangers fc is a newco therefore they should earnt their right into the spl.

I don't know if these plans will go ahead (I sincerely hope not) but if they do it will prove once and for all that Scottish Football is corrupt and crooked and will do anything to protect the Old Firm.

I hope clubs ask the fans for their opinions otherwise there could be a lot of people deserting Scottish Football.
Found this hilarious video on Rangers demise Smile

I'm now beginning to think that may be a bit premature. The revelations that have appeared today are absolutely astounding. Fan's message boards are currently awash with fans expressing their disbelief that the clubs who we thought were taking a stand against the Huns and voting for integrity.

If the plans do come to fruition I will be returning my season ticket and will NEVER set foot in a Scottish Football ground again. Will also be asking for the money that I spent renewing my season to be refunded.

Never in my life have I been so livid at something which is only a plan at present, the plan has been there for weeks, it's just not been public knowledge and as soon as it appeared Rangers were not going to get back in to the SPL they decided they would try to shaft the fans.
charles green has said that he and rangers newco are open to the plans, http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18641075

Frankly I think that Charles can shove the plans up his arse. Also there is no 'Rangers' Newco they're officially registered with companies house as Sevco 5088. They can't use the 'Rangers' name until the liquidation of the old club is finished, which could take years.

In other news, Hibernian have officially signed James McPake from Coventry City. He was outstanding for the second half of the season, and was the first real leader Hibs have had for a long time. Hopefully he can once again prove to be Captain Fantastic.
Couple of pics I picked up from elsewhere which I found absolutely hilarious

Structuring the Scottish league like the Belgian league is an interesting idea. It may draw the crowds in if teams only play each other once at home and once away. It may also allow other teams to be more competitive, have a chance to win the SPL and also to qualify for the Champions League. The only argument I can think of, as to why teams would be against it, is they may think its unfair if a team, who finishes first to compete in the play offs loses to a team that finishes 6th in the play offs. Overall, it sounds like a good idea
