You obviously didn't watch the game, even people in those countries would have turned it off

Iran game for me should have 5pm game as it is the least attractive game for viewers

Least attractive game for viewers? Not in Iran and Nigeria surely?

Anyway the matches were played the way they were drawn. I checked the original schedule and the kick off times were not changed.

U S A !!!
it's yank night, the Soccer game on now, then WWE later and maybe a bit of studio 66 USA too
I think that may be the fifth fastest goal ever scored in World Cup history.... If 31 seconds it's just behind Bryan Robsons 27 second goal against France in 1982 !

This isn't true. The matches were played the way they were drawn. I checked the original schedule and the kick off times were not changed after the draw was made.

This isn't true either. The reason the England-Italy was shown at 11pm is that all the Manaus matches are 11pm UK time (6pm Manaus time) because of the weather there.

There's no way you can schedule matches for earlier because Manaus is in the middle of the jungle and very hot during the day. Even at 6pm for the England-Italy match it was 30 degrees C.
The England v Italy was moved forward so that it was easier to accommodate giving pubs extra opening hours so fans could watch game in the pub.

Was meant to be 2am game

These guys are professional athletes, they should be ready to play at any time, any place, any weather. Quit making excuses for them.

I did watch the game in fact although I fail to see the relevance of that.

One more time - the 3 Monday matches were played the way they were drawn. I checked the original schedule and the kick off times for that day were not changed after the draw was made.

In response, he said it was harder than he thought it would be.

Talk about overreaction!

I understand that Phil Neville has thanked everyone for the feedback.

That's a nice story but it isn't true. The reason the England-Italy game was switched with the Japan-Ivory Coast game is that the UK, Italy and Japan broadcasters all asked for the switch.

If the Japan-Ivory Coast had stayed at 11pm UK time it would have been 7am in Japan. Changing it to a 10am kick off Japan time was clearly a lot better, and bringing forward the England-Italy from 2am to 11pm was better for the UK and Italy broadcasters.
