ffs r u lot for real lol seriously y his rooney getting the blame? was he playing in his right postion? y play him on the left? y shud he defend, he has great workrate, the number of tackles u see him make and clearances he makes in his own box and me as an england fan i dont wana see rooney defend i wana see him attack ffs cause the uva teams problems. play rooney thru the middle he will get goals, his best season at man utd when he scored alot he was playing thru the middle. hes how old 28 29, and hes prob in the next few years going to be man utd and englands record all time goalscorer and u lot r making out hes wank lmao and he doesnt play san marino week in week out seriously ffs. play ur best players in their best positions, this has similarities of ericsson'x treatment of scholes, our best player at the time and playing him on the left Huh

I remember he even wasted a corner!! God help us when we start qualifiers for the Euros.
Where was the bloke from the mars ad when the nation needed his tactical advice ?
never thought of that!! good point tractor boy!! Big Grin Maybe they should have thought of tht when they had a free kick Tongue

Don't be condescending. Costa Rica are a useful side these days and can give anyone a game. It wouldn't be a great embarrassment to lose to them. Didn't you see them beat Uruguay?
There are no easy games in the World Cup. Despite the fact that the media states that public opinion doesn't give England any chance of winning the cup it seems that some people have exaggerated expectations. To lose to Italy by one goal is no disgrace. Their passing at times is as good as it gets....and they have Pirlo. A skilful, intelligent playmaker of the type we just don't possess. Despite that if our overall defensive play had been a little better then the outcome might have been different. England have gems in Sterling, Barclay & Sturridge and with Oxlade-Chamberlain possibly fit to play we still have a chance to get out of the group.
Hindsight as they say is a wonderful thing but I do think Terry and Cole's omission at the back has weakened the defence, which is prone to panicking when under slight pressure.
Wow the 91% pass completion rate last night best of any england side in the world cup ever stats were great even if the result wasnt

yes I did HannahsPet, but at the same time It would be a real feather in Costa Rica's cap if they beat the two fancied teams in the group and go through.

I think there was a lack of communication defence at times.

I don't think you ran out of ideas, Rooney just wasted all your chances, even Barkley was looking at Rooney in disgust when he came on and Rooney was selfish and wasted another chance..
yeah can see why barclay was he had got himself into a great position with a burst of pace only for rooney to nick the ball off him and waste the chance
