(fernandez broke the thread, i had nothing to do with it!) Smile
The slagging off of the referee is hilarious.

It's easy to make the correct decision while you're sitting in your armchair, watching numerous slow motion replays and having it explained to you by Andy fvcking Townsend.

Perhaps slightly more difficult having to make a decision based on your own eyes and your own perceptions, with an entire team and 60,000+ people screaming and shouting at you.

Amazing that the referee is the only person whose decision matters, and yet he has the least tools out of anyone.

That said, Brazil got lucky today. They had some very good passages of play and overall were probably decent enough value for their win based on balance of play, but seriously, Croatia's goalkeeper was absolute pony.
Other than Brazil penalty which was soft although can see why it was given the officials had a good game. Yellow card right for me for Neymar challenge. The other big decision It looks to the linesman that Croatian has gone in on the Brazil goalkeeper so can see why a foul given.

Regarding a poll of what team Scots would support the winner was None of the Above with 40% with England in 2nd place with 20%

speaking for myself i was only winding fernandez up but i will take what you said about the refs on-board. it's a very difficult job and i really feel for them. it's not like they're full time and are paid handsomely do get easy decisions right no matter how many people are 'screaming and shouting' at them.
oh wait........
I slag the referee because unlike us sat on our armchairs, he's TRAINED and PAID to be a ref. Anyone who doesn't do their job properly deserved to be slagged off, we do it to players, managers, gk, doctors, nurses, cops and everyone else in society, why not refs?

Brazil are very very lucky, defended crap (I loved the desperate clearances towards the end), Fred and Hulk were half asleep, Oscar and Neymay played relatively well. It was a very soft penalty, he went down way too easily for someone of his size. Crap penalty too (awful gk'ing) the Croatia goal was disallowed incorrectly, Caesar dropped the ball and it was a clear goal and then another lucky goal.

Lets hope the refereeing improves over the tournament *sighs*

terence can you please speak to your small group of troll wannabees please? I don't fancy the next month or so of my life on here just reading through nonsence like this laugh

I can actually enjoy read your posts terence and take them as being a joke between us but when the "haters" all want to copy you in a lame way it kind of gets a bit old Rolleyes
Haha, seriously? Doctors? Players? Managers? Lawyers?

These people are all given the tools to do their JOB that they're being PAID to do. (See, I can use capital letters too! Wink )

This is like expecting doctors to make correct diagnosis, and administer correct treatments without allowing them to use x-rays and MRI.

Oh and the Brazilian patients sometimes fake their symptoms. Wink
