that's the harsh reality of the playoffs, next season if we finish 7th and beat the team who finished 4th in the playoffs i won't give a shit

anyway back on topic, i wonder if the runners up will celebrate like holland did last night when they pick up their sliver medals, hope it goes to pens and germany lose

What you're not bright enough to understand is that the teams playing tonight are ALREADY GUARANTEED to win silver medals at least and therefore can't win them tonight. The only prizes to be won tonight are the winners medals.
Wow, so maybe they can celebrate before the match even starts, then.

Precisely!

Teams go into the 3rd place playoff knowing already that they cannot win the World Cup. Just for some light reading, here is a list of the last eight teams to finish forth at the World Cup:

Uruguay, Portugal, South Korea, Netherlands, Bulgaria, England, Belgium, and France.

So it's normally the team that was lucky to even reach the semi-final in the first place and had no real business getting that far. This year is no exception.

Both teams have already celebrated reaching the final.

Well, if you can recall. They actually do.

It's normally at the end of the semi-final Wink
so if brazil won 3-0 last night everything would have been all well and good for them would it? of course it wouldn't they will always be remembered for getting hammered by germany not for winning a meaningless 3rd place playoff game, if a team like england or costa rica came 3rd then perhaps it will be a consolation prize for those teams, but teams like holland and brazil are in the world cup to win it not come 3rd, i doubt chelsea fans were happy about coming 3rd last season, people have to look past this playing for pride nonsense, i couldn't careless about coming 3rd or 4th who remembers that?

You don't quit easily do you? Wink

Ok. A quick hypothetical... You have two choices... A bronze medal, or fvck all... Which one would you prefer? Answer carefully.

There's a good lad Wink
