Just play Sterling on the wing! it's his natural position! since when has Rooney been a winger? If Roy is planning on playing Sturridge down the middle for the World cup then drop Rooney to the bench! there is no point in having somebody in the team because of a name..
After Roy Keane suddenly pulled out at short notice of being one of the ITV pundits for the World Cup, saying he wanted to concentrate on his coaching career, ITV have responded by replacing him with John Terry.

Yes Fergie played him there to accommodate van Persie...and he hated it and didn't perform for us. A week to go and Hodgson is playing Rooney as a winger and Milner at right back. It has to be a concern when the manager still has unanswered questions about his squad and is tinkering with players out of position. Huh
Or when asked in a press conference says he hasn't got a clue about the opposition... he should be playing players in their correct positions, thats why they were supposedly picked, to play the correct positions, whats the point in playing Milner at RB when he has selected other RB's on standby like Flanagan, surely give them a chance to play in the correct position... or play Milner on the wing, not Rooney!

Makes no sense at all...

Milner can play defensively probably better than Johnson but the question I ask is why take Johnson in the first place to then replace him with an out of position player. Although not a big fan I do think that Kyle Walker could be a big loss for England...unless Milner and Hodgson prove their point!
because johnson is a great attacking winger so will prob start games but we need someone who can when we are ahead and we need to defend with 20 mins to go need someone who we can rely on and milner is the type of player that can do that
i see hodgeson's got his tactics spot on Wink Roy take note... Barkley > Wilshere + Rooney
Things learn't so far:
Negative
Milner's not a full back. You can only hope that Roy's thinking of using Phil Jones as Johnson's backup
Smalling's not an international centre half. He's getting bullied by the big Ecuadorian forwards.... Is it too late to beg John Terry to play

Positive
Ross Barkley & Oxlade-Chamberlain are causing problems going forward

eh?...a great attacking winger? He plays at right back or right wing back. The emphasis is on the word 'back'. In other words a bit of defensive ability is desirable. Milner is not the answer and other than giving him a run out in warm weather I don't see what's being gained. Our whole defence looks dodgy. Smalling is poor and has been terrible for us all season so how he gets picked for the national squad is puzzling. There is some optimism going forward but I fear that against the quality teams in the finals it is unlikely that we will be ahead with 20 minutes to goWink
