One thing, any player in his position would have done the same thing, second if it was a player from England for example against Germany that did the same thing Suarez did any England supporter would be happy England went through and probably laugh about it, what should he have done? move out of the way and let the ball in the goal?
Ghana still had a chance to win the game with a penalty as the final kick, it wasn't Suarez that made Ghana miss the penalty, they messed it up themselves...
^ I partly agree, however I don't think any player would do that, only players who care enough about the team and not themselves (being called a cheat and such) would do it. I have the utmost respect for him for the handball, he made himself out to be a villain for the good of the team. Kudos

But seeing as you took it so seriously, yes Ghana did have a penalty. But were denied a certain goal.
Certain goal > penalty
it's cheating i guess but in that situation he had to take one for the team, the other option would have been for him to be honest by letting the ball go in and they probably go out, honesty is not always the best policy i'd do the same if it was me tbh, however there is no excuse for a player diving, elbowing, making dirty tackles or biting someone in a game to gain an advantage, deliberate handball on the goal line is a grey area in football

Suarez knew what the rules were and he decided to play by them for the world to see. He knew that if he used his hands in penalty area he would get a red card and a suspension for the next game. He knew that he would give a penalty to Ghana where they could still win. He knew too that this was the only way to give his team a chance at survival. He took one for his country, and his gambled paid off after Ghana missed the penalty kick, it's not cheating...
Players make deliberate fouls in basketball and Ice Hockey all the time and Penalties are given, it's not classed as cheating, is the same in football. The only person who can cheat in a football match is the referee
