Back to their original Bruce McLaren ORANGE I understand. Watched a documentary about Bruce at my dad's a few weeks back, as he was of course driving back when drivers used their countries colour, but his black (New Zealand) cars were often missed when lapping other slower cars, so he chose to paint his cars in orange so that they couldn't miss seeing him instead. Mercedes of course run in their original German colour of Silver, hence the term 'the silver arrows' that they'd originally been christened.
