I watched it on Channel 4.
The presenters were in the museum at Silverstone so it seemed a bit flat but I thought F1 had done a very good job of making it all work with social distancing. When it was all underway you'd have never known.
Earlier in the year someone remarked that rules and procedures are what F1's all about so I'd expect them to do this well. Couldn't be any more Covid secure in a car.
The sad thing is that Mercedes is so far ahead. Obviously that's not their fault but tension betweeen Hamilton and Bottas seem boring to me.
I didn't think Qualifying suffered particularly from no fans being there. Be interesting to see if the race seems flat without them, and crucially, no grid celebs etc. F1 has become a sterilised obsessive-compulsive's dream over the years in any case. I used to follow it avidly in the 90s but the cars, spectacle and personalities now just don't engender the same level of excitement or devotion. The drivers are mostly insipid and can't talk without the team PR woman stood next to them recording and monitoring every word.
Looks like Merc will romp away with it. I heard Ferrari got investigated for dodgy engine cheating a few months back and hey presto they are now a second or more a lap slower...why am I not suprised about Ferrari cheating, they have always done so and in the past the owners and FIA would turn a blind eye. No longer it seems.
Wow! what an eventful race.
Top 3
1: Bottas (Mercedes)
2: Leclerc (Ferrari)
3: Norris (McLaren)
Hamilton was 2nd on the track but got a 5 second penalty for causing a collision with Alex Albon and finishes 4th
Well done land Norris great race
Hamilton was given a five-second time penalty after a coming together with Red Bull's Alexander Albon. Looked more like a racing collision.
Many probably would say that the collision between Albon & Hamilton was more to do with racing or just a slight contact
Fernando Alonso is set for a return with Renault for 2021
Lewis Hamilton wins Styrian GP
