I think it was Hungary where Hill finished 2nd in Arrows after his car began to fail a few laps from the end - it was a shame - it would have been a nice story to see him win in an unfancied arrows. Think it might have been Villenueve who went on to win in his williams that day.
What a fantastic Hungarian Grand Prix!!! Daniel Ricciardo win but for me the driver of the race was Lewis Hamilton who came from starting in the pitlane to finish 3rd!!!!! and crucially finished ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg who finished 4th to trim the gap to rosberg to 11 points going into the summer break
Good race today, lots of twists and turns that helped maintain an element of uncertainty which is always a solid foundation for a fascinating race.
I wondered how long it would be before the fans started thinking Rosberg was favoured and the whacky theories began to emerge. I would seriously doubt fabricating brake failure or a fire and risking someone's life would be deliberate - how ridiculous.
As for the "Lewis let Nico past" debate, he was never close enough and therefore has nothing to complain about so that's 'case closed' in my book.
Very good viewing today from start to finish.
Today's race was good and enjoyable to watch.
Too many grand prix turn into a procession so it is refreshing when we see a race like the one today.
Another race decided by the safety car. Well done to Hamilton for coming from the back again, and well done to Ricciardo for winning, but the safety car shaped the outcome of the race so much it should have been given some points too. Most ridiculous thing of all about the safety car? The way that back markers can unlap themselves.
Well done to Hamilton a superb drive from pits to 3rd. To achieve podium from that position must be something not achieved before in F1!! I think that makes it likely that the second half of the season will be one where Hamilton needs to make podium and keep Rosberg behind him to give him the best shot at the title. Riccardo must certainly be in a strong position to be rookie of the year (if there is such a title). I think he has certainly given Vettel something to think about at Red Bull

I think as far as back markers go, they should automatically be retired if they are more than say 3 laps down when they are say in the last 10 laps of any race.

Ricciardo wont be rookie of the year as this season is his 2nd season in f1

There are so many contributing variables that can change the outcome of a race, not just a safety car.
"That's racing" as they say, but I do see where your coming from.

Maybe you're right. After all an innocent driver can get shunted off the track and be put out of the race through no fault of his own. I guess the safety car is just another thing that can happen to cost someone a race. The unlapping rule is strange though, especially as a car that is 2 laps down is allowed to unlap but only once and has to stay a lap down.
I think Mercedes tactics were to have Lewis to let Rosberg pass so that Rosberg would have pushed Alonso and would most likely overtaken him, but what Lewis did was great for not allowing him pass for his own title aspiration. Great day of formula one driving!
