If you can't connect your TV to the Internet or if your TV is not compatible with the service even if it is connected to the Internet then all you will see is the channel holder telling you that your TV has to be connected to the Internet. I don't know which TVs are compatible with the service though, I have a Linsar Smart TV and that works fine. I assume Sony, LG and Samsung Smart TVs will probably work as well. A good indication would be if you can receive the Adult XXX trailer on 183 then you should be able to receive Sin TV. As far as viewing the channel goes you're just told to press the red button and the stream then appears no additional confirmation is required.

Hmm interesting thanks for that. I have a Sony I can watch Iplayer through it so I'm not sure where I stand with being able to view it. Currently as stated I juSt have the holder. Maybe will re scan see what that does. I used to be able to see the adult xxx trailer til a few weeks ago. Curious.

Thanks for the feedback.

Well that is curious. The fact that you could receive the Adult XXX trailer until a few weeks ago means that you can stream channels on your TV. Some connected TV’s don’t allow channel streaming that was the case with Linsar until the software update rectified that.
There are a few reasons why your TV may not be compatible now. The first is your TV may need a software update check to see if Sony have a software update available for your TV. The second maybe that your TV has automatically updated the software which is now not compatible with certain streaming channels. The third possibility is that your Internet bandwidth may be too low to receive the channel, some say they need a minium of 4GBs to stream properly but I would say as long as your around 2GBs you should be fine. Check your connection speed on your TV it should be under the network settings. There is also a problem if your connected via wi-fi with peaking and troughing sometimes the connection will dip and your TV won’t recognise that your connected.
A simple re-tune could work for you but if it doesn’t the above reasons maybe why you can’t receive the channel. Most can be rectified for example a wi-fi booster will help with peaking and troughing problems.
If when your using iplayer it’s working well and not buffering a lot then a connection problem is unlikely. I think it’s more likely to be a software problem.
Good luck mate, hope you will be able to receive the channel in the near future.
Wow. That's a comprehensive but of advice. I receive no problems with Iplayer at all. So I remain optimistic. Many thanks
Where can I buy bandwidth that size, I want some Tongue
I must say that this channel makes some odd decisions.

Maybe there was no capacity available on normal FreeView or Digital FreeView. But they then go on a route that possibly only two men and a dog could watch (since the vast majority of TV's are not internet capable)
I think I would rather they fixed their website so we got the x streams back.
that will boost the amount of calls coming in to sintv if they are going to start on freeview. agree with tractor. they should get the website back up and running 1st. so that people like tractor who can't watch sintv on sky can watch online and they can get the x-streams going. they've got the babes to do very filthy x-stream shows like Beth Bennett, Karina Currie & Kimmy Haze
Can still see the show on the InterWeb, but agree would be great to have the X-Streams back!

You are probably right about capacity and there is no doubt extra cost to be considered in going the pucker FV route.

As for the internet capable thing, I'm sure Sin have had this planned from the get go. At the time it probably seemed prudent thing to do for future-proofing (after all it is almost certainly the future for these kinds of shows). It's only now that people are questioning if Sin have a future! Tongue
So a rundown of attempts so far

Simple re tune. Nope

Check software update. Nope

Plugged TV with Ethernet cable from router. Nope

Retuning using full scope. Nope.

This is frustrating. I thought Sony were meant to be a good company. Damn software. I can watch all other internet enabled things on it. Iplayer etc.

All I get is the header card saying it can only be seen via an Internet connection.

No red button to press

Earlier, I took a closer look at the website. Or rather what was the website.

I had some of the pages in my history so could call them up. Except that all except the 'home page' gave a 404 as is the entire content has been wiped from the server.

So I wonder. It costs money to send a stream (I assume with all OSGs) to the FV/Internet. It costs money to send a different stream (without OSGs) to Repent.

These two decisions, what with the low access to the site - they could still send x-streams if they wanted to go that way - on these two platforms, makes me think if the website has been ditched at least till they get some PPV content on there.
