..He's already had a pretty good go at turning "Sherlock" into a crappy sitcom...(stag night pub crawls, wedding speeches etc) so hasn't he got all that out of his system yet ?
I expected the latest to be a let down. I guess I got what I expected then. Capaldi's not to blame at all for weak scripts and sorry, but the script in this one was too muddled and didn't really have much of a point to it.

I like that the new doctor is darker, scarier and willing to go to any length to achieve an objective - even so far as sacrificing someone's life to save the rest of the group. But I found the whole concept of trying to help a "good" Dalek ridiculous. Daleks are never good, he knows that, we all know that. Moffat should know that - he's been writing these stories for long enough by now. But I suppose he turned Cybermen into tap dancing fools and gave one the name of 'Handles'. He turned Sontarans into bumbling butlers working for a lesbian Silurian. Now he's turned a Dalek into a pitiful thing we have to feel sorry for, calls it "Rusty" and has it fire on proper Daleks.

I wonder what shit will come our way next week? Come on Moffat, I dare you to impress us with a Robin Hood story. If you can. Very disappointed in the writing of this show and it needs something spectactular again to turn it around. Sad
Moffat's scripts have been anything but exciting. I too was wondering what was the point of having a 'good' Dalek. Whether that was a nod towards the 'Asylum' Episode I don't know, but certainly would agree it made a ridiculous storyline we have always known Daleks to be one of the biggest evils in the series and to make one turn 'good' was to far off what they are supposed to be.
I guess looking back that even now it seems that the 'Dalek' episode in the Ecclestone years was trying to achieve the same objective.
Is there an on going story to do with Paradise / Heaven. Personally I think it's the doctors mind accepting what he has done to these people after all robots don't have souls do they! Clara's boyfriend too at some point - "I'm sorry, I'm so very sorry."

Looks like it could be a returning thing through the series ?. Might be interesting.

Although I worry that my gut reaction to it was a bit deja vu : it just reminded me of Madame Kovarian from "the Silence" episodes for some reason.

Maybe that was just a superficial thing to do with the way the actress looked though.
I'm keeping an eye out for any ongoing newspaper theme.
Last week Clara had her copy of The Times delivered, or thrown at her head.
This week she was walking around the school staffroom with a copy of The Guardian prominently displayed in her hands.
Where is this all leading?
Wink Well newspapers are Black and White and Red all over, so it's obviously to tie in with the colours being shoehorned in everywhere : characters called "Blue" and "Pink" ?Tongue

Nobody's called "Pink". And a soldier ? "Private Pink" ? Oh please.
Can't wait to see the Sun make an appearance!! Tongue or even the Daily Mail

Will we see special thanks to a newspaper in the credits?
