That was both awful and brilliant
This month's spoilerific round up of S11 news:

Full list of directors: http://cultbox.co.uk/news/headlines/doct...-directors

Walsh confirmed on a episode of The Chase earlier this month that the sonic screwdriver will feature this year.

"An old character" is coming back: https://twitter.com/georgebaker87/status...4338089984
Note, they don't say monster or enemy but "character", which perhaps suggests companion more than anything else.

David Jason may be guest starring in a episode: https://twitter.com/dwpageofficial/statu...3517620225

And rumours that they'll be more pussy on the TARDIS this year are firming up Big Laugh, along with a trailer date, who the returnee is and some other bits and pieces:

This detailed compilation of info on the South African filming features the only image I've yet seen of a monster/villian from this season. (I omitted this article from my last post here in error - apologies. By rights it should have led off that one): https://doctorwhoproductionnews.blogspot...frica.html

Current filming is once again overseas. This time it looks as if sunny Spain is standing in for the Raj at the time of the British Empire. Presumably this episode is some sort of history lesson for Mandip Gill's character Yasmin: http://cultbox.co.uk/news/headlines/doct...g-latest-2

The end of filming is now supposed to be just a few short weeks away.

P.S. The rumoured trailer date has been denied by a beeb journo: https://twitter.com/lizo_mzimba/status/1...8476968961
Pure guesswork on my behalf but maybe it's a little early and they're saving it for the final on July 15th instead (after all they did similar with one on as part of the Wimbledon Final broadcast a while back).

No, silly, it'll be a history lesson for the viewers! Who don't understand racism properly, despite multi-cultural Britain etc Rolleyes

Are YOU the sort of fan who has screaming fits about the FX in the original shows? Well, are YOU in luck!

The Doctor Who Production blog has had two recent updates:

The first concerns filming that took place in a Cardiff church in November last and concerns a scene (from early in episode one apparently) that spotlights at a traumatic event in the life of Bradley Walsh's character: http://doctorwhoproductionnews.blogspot....ilers.html
This would seem to imply the character of Graham carries some back story 'baggage' that presumably will require addressing later in the season?

The second update concerns the locations and the five days filming in Spain with the Doctor and a least one companion present: https://doctorwhoproductionnews.blogspot...spain.html
https://mobile.twitter.com/GirlyLetters/...1289314305
Production wrapped in Spain on Friday with production moving back to Cardiff this week. Even the limited info regarding the nature of the scenes shot (oxen cart, wood cabins and castle exteriors) as reported above confirms that this is intended for an historical story. One can imagine the castle involved standing in for an Indian locale too.

A previous life as a stand-up comedian perhaps? Rolleyes
Bradley Walsh isn't at all bad, as a serious actor. So, if his character turns out to be shit it'll be more likely due to the writing than him.
Oh I agree. He'd have been an acceptable choice as the lead. Still...
